Trade Barzal for two more higher 1st rounders and a top 6 forward. Then use the $9 million saved on Barzal to sign a free agent.
Barzal is the only real ammunition to trade for picks and a younger player to grow with the Schaeffer core . In this market with the overpays Darche is stupid to not at least dangle Him ,
Boys – it's looking pretty bleak unless there is some bold move/plan happening that we know nothing about. Too many mid AAV contracts with below average production that nobody wants.

Buffalo is 2 hrs from where I live, just across the border – I have a soft spot for that team with sick uni's!

You are NOT going to get Barzal, Horvat, not even Pelech traded for picks or young guys not ready for the NHL.
Darche has shown this to the fansbase – he wants a winning environment to grow his draft picks in, he is not tearing it down. So whatever trades the fanbase conjures, know that it won't be a dump … until (if) his hand is forced.
