  1. Yes its a huge risk but for Toronto, its good for them getting any decent dmen to play on their blueline lol. If he gets 50-55 pts, thats a good season for him

  2. Ppl are sleeping on the bald man. This was his breakout because, with Hedman's injury, it's the first time in his career he had decent deployment. He's gonna be D1/PP1 in Toronto. Sleep on baldy at your own peril

  3. Maybe this will help Matthews on the powerplay, can even run two decent units instead of a loaded one. Time will tell and someone was going to pay him this.

  4. People understand McDonagh is nothing special anymore, right?
Also I see no reason to think he can’t hit 70 again. Toronto has just as many offensive weapons as Tampa. Raddysh’s numbers went up because of powerplay time and opportunity not just because it was a career year

  5. There is basically zero chance this contract feels like they are paying the right price in 4 years. With the cap going up so much in the next few it’s already going to be hard to price guys on long contracts. Him being signed on the back of a career year is another wrinkle. If Raddysh plays well his contract will look like a steal. Because of how much top Dmen are going to get in 4 years. If he doesn’t play well it won’t matter how much the cap goes up that contract will look miserable.

  6. Toronto operates as a desperate organization. No coaches want to coach there, players consistently want out.

Corporate ownership should hire someone to just run the thing, a hockey person, and stay the fuck out of it.

  7. Go Raddysh, really happy for him. He earned a big day. I'm sad when ever Tampa can't keep a guy. Toronto is getting a good d-man, but an unbelievably great human being. He is such a great guy.

  8. He absolutely will not repeat what he did last season and that's due to the fact the leafs don't have an elite playmaker like the lightning did. Good luck getting 22 goals with forwards who only know how to shoot the puck. Leafs need to do much more and I hope this overpayment didn't obliterate their ability to improve the roster in more effective ways. I hate the notion that a team should spend money to spend just because they have it. It leads to overpays just like this one. It really only addresses one issue and idk how much it really addresses it. He's more offensive minded than defensive minded. This isn't even the type of d core leafs fans have been begging for. Its just another offensive dude amongst many offensive dudes. Ultimately they still have to go and find a good to great playmaker to connect these pieces together. Lots of guys looking to score and nobody looking to pass. This needs to be addressed.
