This is where the rubber meets the road for Stevie Y. He has to be bold and aggressive in getting the pieces necessary to prove to the players in this league that he wants to win the Cup. ASAP. He has to think like the people running other successful franchises, such as Vegas, who believe every year they are going to win. His current slow, careful rebuild attitude is unattractive to players. They want to know the management wants to win. Not five years from now, but NOW. Otherwise, why waste your time coming here.
If he can't do that, if he can't get valuable pieces in a Larkin trade, and spend, possibly overspend to get other necessary pieces, the Wings are toast. He has to show urgency of agency or the rest of the league will continue to leave this franchise in the dust.
Should we be more worried that other players will want out like Larkin? I read multiple articles that basically say Kane was close to signing before the Larkin trade went public. Now he’s waiting to see what moves are made and to see how competitive the team will be. Doesn’t sound like he wants to be on a rebuilding team. Especially if they trade his buddy Alex.
Buffalo would be a perfect fit for Kane. He's from there and they are actually contenders now.

In this draft 20 through 50 are all flawed in some way. They can go anywhere in that area. 16 teams could have their 21-32 be 36-47th on the other 16’s list.
None of the brothers you mentioned are twins. The Sedins are the only twins I can think of and they played together their whole career. Twin chemistry is a real thing

I don't think Kane wants to leave. He's pretty much settled into Detroit with his family and loves it here. Especially with a family orientated organization that he's been happy with and very vocal about.
But, If we're talking about the what ifs, Buffalo I can see would be an only considered option given that's his hometown. Outside of that I see him staying put finishing out his career here even if offered a low AAV + bonuses.
Just makes sense as a family man up there in age closer to retirement than not.

I don’t understand the rumors about trading Cat. This team would be a disaster without him. One of the top competitors at all times. Ideally, He should be one of the leaders of this team going forward. But if Cat has expressed to the Red Wings he won’t be doing an extension this team’s situation is a bigger mess than we think.

That would really be a bummer to lose Kane. Though I wouldn't blame him since barring some miracle trades we're definitely not a playoff team.
