Preds have to rebuild and it’s going to happen whether they want to or not. They need everything: bigger, faster, offense and defense. Love Trotz but he really hurt the team….and Brunette. He’s essentially leaving the team the way he found it so basically 3 wasted years.
Stamkos to Buffalo O’Reilly to Edmonton
As a predators fan, I live just outside of Nashville and I’ve been living here for over 20 years. I’ve been here through the lean years, but I keep hearing this name Fitzgerald and I know who he is. However, what is he really done in New Jersey over the last 10 years that would warrant him getting the GM. New Jersey has been under performing for at least eight of the 10 years.
Hiring GM’s that have been in the job and previous teams means that you’re hiring someone who has been fired recently for not doing a good job or good enough.
This team needs to go with a fresh face, maybe not even an established GM give someone new a chance to prove themselves. All GM’s had to start somewhere first, and I think Scotty Nichol would be a great choice for what he has done with the admirals who continues to put absolute awesome teams on the ice, championship teams on the ice.
Stamkos, I don’t think they’ll trade him or O’Reilly, they have to get rid of Marchessault retain a little salary….
The number 10 pick overall, I think you try to give it to Dallas, for the rights for Robertson, if he would sign long term
I thought it would be outrageous, but maybe possible trade Jussie Saros and get quite a bit in return. There are so many teams need a decent goalie, I think Annunen has showed he can play in big games and play pretty damn good. And just get a service backup that would clear 8 million from our cap and will allow you to go out and get some bigger defenseman because we need defense or defense is completely lacking right now…..
You talked about trading the top three you discussed, but I think that would be Ludacris because if you trade Stamkos and O’Reilly, you’ve pretty much evaporated 60 goals out of the lineup and that will hurt us, I understand you’re saying a ritual, but that would be a rebuild….. You can’t just lose 70 goals and aspect to be offensively productive!!!
We need to revamp the defense, our scoring is great….. you thought losing jost and haula…. One may go, but I think haula will stay, he is cheap, he is fast, he is a leader, and his face off percentage is spectacular…. Jose does have an upside of speed and skill and it looked pretty decent in the ladder part of the season he may be let go without retention.
The coach I think you keep him for one more year and let the team see what they can do cause they look pretty good at the ladder part of the season cause they started out in the hole at 6–12, finishing the season 38–34, but they did look a lot better, just couldn’t keep the pocket out of the net and that’s why we need better defense to help the goalie. Did Saros, maybe at times, but at times he did steal a lot of games and they left them out to dry quite a bit in the beginning of the season!!!
Christmas is July 1, and I can’t wait!!! bring on the free agency
as a Nashville fan, I’m glad we got Stamkos. He’s putting up 40g a year as a 34/35 year old. He’s such a good mentor for the young guys and hopefully our new GM/picks from Trotz/poile’s time can learn as much as they can from him while we got him
