FRESH EYES, FRESH START: Boston Bruins Hire Matt McIlvane, Should Target Tristan Luneau from Ducks
Boston Bruins shake up their bench by hiring Matt McIlvaine as assistant coach, signaling a bold move toward fresh tactics and outside perspectives. With McIlvaine’s success guiding the San Diego Gulls and a proven connection to head coach Marco Sturm, Bruins fans have reason to anticipate an energizing new approach behind the bench. Can McIlvaine unlock more offensive firepower from the Bruins’ defense and help elevate their penalty kill?
Ian McLaren explores how this coaching addition could impact Boston’s blue line, pointing to promising talents like Tristan Luneau as potential trade targets, and discusses the implications for roster development. Also covered: David Pastrnak and Jeremy Swayman land on the Hart Trophy ballot, affirming their star power, and speculation swirls on future moves that could accelerate the Bruins’ hunt for playoff glory. Will these changes be enough to keep the Bruins at the forefront of the NHL?

I hope Mcllvane can help us get past round one in the Stanley Cup this coming season.
I wouldn't mind this move, but I'm really hoping that either Simon Nemec (age 22) from New Jersey) or Filip Hronek from Vancouver (age 29 in November) is the right-shot D that the Bruins are targeting in a trade.
I think that #1 Centers cost a King's Ransom (Detroit will get a haul for 30-year old Dylan Larkin).
So, why not build up the blue line? And look for free agent Wingers.
Re-sign Zacha for 1C (and roll with him and Pasta) and let Fraser Minten run the second line.
Thought? Let the new AC (fresh eyes as noted), work with Lohrei for a season before letting him go in a trade. If McIlvane is good with younger players, then allow him to work with Lohrei, Poitras, Lysell, Brunet, Hagens plus for a season. 🐻
Love the idea of targeting Luneau not sure why Ducks would want to let him go
Joe Luneau?
