4. As a long-time Oilers fan, this Mike Babcock news is completely insane to me. At first I thought it was a joke or Fake News. But if there is any truth to it, it would be a total disaster for Edmonton in every way. Mike Babcock is such a hated, controversial, negative person in NHL history that he should never be allowed to coach again. This is like bringing back Mike Keenan — are you effing kidding me? If Babcock was actually signed as the new Oilers coach, you can be sure that the Oilers will go down the toilet. Babcock has had his chances to prove he deserves respect as an NHL coach, and he blew it.

    Oiler: on the verge of poping a blood vessel*. The only way someone would take your shit salary would be outragious! Were talking two 1sts. They will likely still ask that we retain 3 mil of the contract!!

21. Rumour out of Toronto is the Leafs might be in on the action for Nurse. But I don’t know if I like that idea. The only way I could (and would) see this happening is if they managed to dump Morgan Rielly in exchange. A blue line with both Rielly and Nurse in Toronto would be a disaster. One or the other, but not both.

22. I like Nurse, he's a big body that isn't afraid to check and block shots. Unfortunately that's really his only upsides in what I've seen. Streaky at best, defensive liability most days. Hopefully a change of scenery is what he needs.

28. My prediction is that Darnell Nurse will get traded to the Pittsburgh Penguins with a third rebuilding team taking on a lot of his the contract to meet their cap floor and to get some draft capital back.
