St. Louis Blues Earn a Big Win with Steve Ott’s Return | The Last Minute Blues Podcast

Alex Ferrario, Donny Fandango, and Jeremy Rutherford are back for a brand new episode of the Last Minute Blues Podcast following the news of Steve Ott’s two-year extension to remain head coach of the St. Louis Blues’ AHL affiliate, the Springfield Thunderbirds. The guys discuss what Ott’s extension means for the organization’s developmental symmetry, the recent two-way contract signings for Georgii Romanov, Zach Dean, and Dylan Peterson, and whether Dillon Dube is on his way to St. Louis. They also dive into the unexpectedly high-scoring Stanley Cup Final between the Vegas Golden Knights and Carolina Hurricanes, before looking around the NHL at Dylan Larkin’s trade request out of Detroit and the mind-boggling rumors of Mike Babcock coaching the Edmonton Oilers. Plus, the guys answer listener emails to debate whether the St. Louis Blues should trade up to the second overall pick in the upcoming NHL Draft.

  1. trading up to number 2, and offering Jiricek… with the justification being… we already have a stenberg brother and need the other.. is the dumbest thing i have ever heard lol

  2. Can we stop with this whole move up in the draft. The Blues dont need a scoring winger. We need Centers. I dont care if Stenbergs brother is in the draft. We dont need another winger. Center or Defence please and thank you.

  3. It’s funny. When there was talk about Stenberg being possibly the first overall, the bandwagon was full. Now that SJ is most likely going defense and Stenberg is projected to go 4th, people are down on him. Stenberg would be a great fit in this line up with Dvorsky and Otto. I’m not gonna down Caleb’s opinion. I agree with him except on the D prospect. The chances of three first round picks in the same year panning out is rare. 2023 draft was a rarity. Go for it Blues

  4. Stan Bowman continues to be a buffoon as a GM. If they hire Babcock they will be destined to fail. Hopefully, it will get Nepo Bowman out of league and eject creepy coach for the final time. I have heard that the NHL intends to investigate Babcock for the Columbus debacle before he is allowed to be hired.

  5. Carolina knows it must win the Cup this year because they know the Florida Panthers will be fully healthy again next season. The Panthers own the Hurricanes and knocked them out of the playoffs 3 straight years before injuries decimated Florida last year. A heathy Florida team ownes Carolina.

  6. Trading up for Stenberg is out of reach. However, I think we can trade up for Viggo Bjork. I can see us giving up 11 and a fourth liner for 9 and picking Viggo.

  7. Babcock is an absolute POS. What he did to Madano is unforgivable. (Scratched him in a meaningless game, IN MINNESOTA, in what would have been his 1500th game).

  8. Only ten minutes left in this video, coffee has pushed Krystal and the original owners WAY harder, he didn't push back basically at all on corporate or the ceo, and nothing I saw in the video…. not impressed at all. But he's a god to all of you.

  9. Why would a rebuild be a minimum 6 years of no playoffs? Honest rebuilds are 3-5 years. Any longer and you’re starting a new rebuild bc you suck at your job. JR with the dipshit take of the day
