I will NEVER forget Staals short handed goal in the 09 finals in game 4! Every time the Pens have been eliminated I always root for him to win another one! I was devastated when they traded Staal
I was so bummed when he got traded. Watching him last night was awesome. THAT GOAL (the game winner) was amazing! Really want him to win again. A finals I wasn't really interested in has turned out to be an outstanding series. It's got just about everything, and that fluky bounce empty netter was the icing on last night. I'll be glued to the TV for the rest of it.
Of course, you hold onto Blomquist. Nothing is a sure thing with goalies. It wasn't too long ago that the Pens had one of the best goalie tandems in hockey, then the expansion draft and injuries hit and then there were none. And so it has been since. Hoard those goalies as long as you can, you never know what will happen.
I'd be wearing my Pens gronk jersey today if it wasn't so hot today.
Jordan Staal = hockey legend!! Canes can’t ever let him retire.
I remember hearing he wanted out so he could play higher up on a roster, rather than playing 3rd line behind Crosby and Malkin. I love Staal, but his game was built for a 3rd line role. I love that guy. I just wish he stayed here and remained that dominating 3rd line presence. He would have been great during those 2016/17 teams.
