Why long-term Tuch contract SHOULDN’T Scare Sabres | The Jeremy and Joe Show
Jeremy White and Joe DiBiase revisit the Alex Tuch conversation as he remains the biggest story of the Sabres offseason. Jeremy explains why he thinks the conversation has swung too far in the “let him go” direction. He explains why an overpayment like this is just the cost of doing business. The guys compare a possible Tuch contract to the Skinner buyout the Sabres are currently dealing with, and point to that as proof that it wouldn’t break the Sabres if he declines late in the deal.

You need to let Tuch walk, he isn’t moving the needle enough to justify the cap hit or term he’ll be commanding. This is not the year to establish yourself as a “free agent destination”, you need to prove what you have in house is sustainable, and you have the pieces to do it. The only thing that would make sense is to either trade for a true #1 goalie or trade Norris as a cap dump.
Did Jeremy say the same thing about the Skinner contract? That’s the biggest thing handicapping the Sabres right now
love tuch but don't tell me its "whats best for my family" when its all about money, he is asking to be paid like crosby and the like' that's a joke and if i was his teammate i'd be offended to be honest.
Is there anything else to talk about other than Tuch? It's been weeks and we keep talking about this guy.. July 1st can't come soon enough so we can stop talking about him.
C'mon you CANT use Panthers or Knights as examples.
Panthers, look at how many team friendly deals they have compared to market value ones.
Vegas put their players on IR for months then miraculous healed for playoffs.
9 mil a year is what Jarmo wants to sign Tuch for. Tuch absolutely wants 11+ mil. I would rather get rid of guys like McLeod, Zucker, Greenway, Kesserling, UPL, Levi and first round picks for a guy that can produce the same as Tuch but is younger. That to me should be plan A. I feel like Jarmo has a plan A in motion which makes Tuch expendable and Jarmo is not willing to bend is offer at this point. For example, not saying this is ever going to happen, but Dylan Larkin is the same age as Tuch and the exact same production. He has 5 years left on his deal at 8.75. If Tuch were to say give me a 5 year deal worth 8.75, Jarmo signs him tomorrow. So Dylan Larkin has the contract right now Jarmo would probably want to sign Tuch for and he's virtually the same player. Although I would give Larkin the edge since he can play 1C . Again, not saying the Sabres have any shot of getting Larkin, but if Jarmo is exploring options, Larkin is a more efficient deal then what Tuch is going to want.
The Zach Benson number is the biggest question. There is also no rush from Benson because he gets to let the market set his price.
Moving Greenway, Norris, Danforth will help
How can u justify a middle of the pack pt player making top player money? Insane. 80somethon points is gonna make 10+ mil a year when top dollar mcdavid has 160pts and 12.5 a year? Insane. Let him walk
