The Buffalo Bills are back in the headlines and we’ve got plenty to unpack in today’s news roundup.
Ray Davis raised some eyebrows during a recent interview with Ty Dunne after expressing frustration with his role in Buffalo’s offense. Is this simply a competitive young player wanting more opportunities, or could there be a bigger issue brewing beneath the surface? We’ll break down what Davis said, what it means for Joe Brady’s offense, and whether Bills fans should be concerned heading into 2026.
Plus, former Bills head coach Sean McDermott was spotted at Giants mandatory minicamp practice today. Why was he there? Could this be a sign of his next coaching opportunity, or is there a much simpler explanation? We’ll explore what this could mean for McDermott’s future in the NFL.
Finally, mandatory minicamp begins tomorrow for the Buffalo Bills. We’ll preview the biggest storylines to watch, including position battles, players under pressure, injury updates, and what we’re hoping to learn as the team takes another step toward training camp.
Join the conversation in the comments and let me know: Should Ray Davis be getting a bigger role in the Bills offense this season?

I love having him be in buffalo i just hope he stays.
A back up
He's gonna have to get over it
Give Ray the ball š once in a while rest Cook a little.
I feel you are looking way too far into his statements. I don't see a "i'm not happy" statement i see more of a "I want my chance to prove myself and compete" statement.
Here is an idea, line him up where WR Josh Palmer would line up. We would probably have more production out of him. Just sayinā
Heās a backup to two Running backs, James Cook and Josh Allen. Heās talented regardless of the O-Line, trade him. I donāt feel bad for him and he can get another chance on another team.
Ray Davis Is Really Good.. They Need To Use Him More Or What The Hell Did U Draft Him For.. He should least be getting 40% of the runs
Just earn it, in training camp šÆ
Trade him
I would rather give Ray more touches as a rb than as a returner. It will prolong both his and Cook's NFL careers. It might not be much consolation to Mr. Davis, but we the fans know who you are, and we love you for it !!!
Go Bills…Kane Pa
They need to play Ray Davis, he's a good tailback. What if somebody else get hurt? Cook Ty Johnson, and then what
James Cook has been awesome. However I don't think it would be the worst thing in the world to reduce his work load a little to keep him fresher later in the year.
Maybe if he was actually a good rb we would care, trade him for a 7th, his returns were due to scheme
100%, it was obvious it was a pass when Davis was on the field. They never handed him the ball. Thatās not good. Give home the ball heās a stud. He needs 6-7 rushes a game with 3-4 targets out of the backfield.
lol he didnāt perform when he had his opportunities on offense last yearā¦.so his carries diminishedā¦hes unhappy with his performance. Until the final game of the season he didnāt run the ball wellā¦.thats y heās frustratedā¦.he knows his touches got limited due to his own performance
Joe Shayne and Beane are way closer than McD and Shayneā¦.MCD already said heās not open to even do consulting like Vrable did in Cleveland his year off
Keon will be WR 3
It sounds like your sleeping on Tupac a bit. I think Dj Moore opens Shakir up. I also think Moore and Shakir could end up being a dynamic duel, but that's just my take. Be well bud. Go Bills- Lawton OK
Lets be very clear, James Cook is elite. Ray Davis is his back up .
12:44 itās not a rumor Leonhard and Beane both confirmed Jackson isnāt an edge anymoreā¦.said heās DLine which is everything but OLB/edge and Parker will absolutely be in rotation thatās how Denverās d line worked was like 60/40 or 70/30 snap split between edge 1/2 and 3/4 even there edge 5 had a couple hundred snaps
When it comes to Davis, it's less about Cook and more about Ty Johnson, the RB that is ultimately taking his best opportunity for snaps.
He's not good enough as a runner and pass catcher to demand more snaps than the better blocker and better pass catching RB player in Ty Johnson. Besides a pair of games against the Jets, Davis has largely been average at best when given a chance, and lacks the physicality to serve as a 3rd down back in 3rd in short situations.
Trade him…..Buffalo don't need a back up running back crying
Why is all of YouTube dubbed
Earn it and he will see the ball in his hand more often. Cook is elite!
Love Ray. Looks like we have to make a decision on Ty Johnson or Ray Davis as the #2. I understand his frustration. Ty or Ray. Ray is more valuable.
It has nun too do with James cook because Johnson doesnāt even get carries
Ray Davis is an okay back. Not sure why the Bills drafted him.
Weapons are weapons. With Gilliam gone, hopefully we see more sets with both Cook and Davis in the backfield.
I think this is ridiculous. Letās just win a Superbowl
I think a lot of people are getting it wrong where Ray feels his role should increase. This is a personal opinion, but I think ray is talking about and insinuating he should be the #2 RB, as well as the 3rd down back (if needed)…which I 100% agree with him. The frustration (again, imo) is that he is splitting with Ty Johnson. I dont think in any universe, a common sense, team player like Davis, thinks he deserves touches instead of James Cook, outside of maybe a handful a game? Ray played a bigger role in 2024, because Buffalo was simply better in the overall standings, wrapped up the division by Dec 1 and he got a lot more touches because of that fact. A big reason why James got 300+ carries last year, was simply because they played way to many close games, especially against inferior opponents and also had to go to the passing game a lot more in the second half, due to too many 1st half holes or deficits.
I love Ray but this is sort of a nothing burger on 2 levels. One level, it's just Ray being a competitive football player and valuing himself…which does not mean one bit, he's not a team player. And the other level is…Ray is a back up RB…and he sort of is a dime a dozen type RB in the league. I think Ray could be like a Devin Singletary, but unfortunately opportunities havent fallen his way the way it did with Devin.
In the Broncos game in the 2nd half. I wanted them to spell Cook for Davis BADLY. Especially when it seemed like Cook had like 2 yards a carry MAX over and over again.
Good God change up give the ball Davis. Davis is just as good as Cook IMO
It's all on the coaches who they like and who they wish they never had to work with just look at mcstupid.
Trade his rear end for a 2027 third round pick.
Ray is and has been awesome. Nothing to prove. I wish we used him more. Especially on short yardage downs. Give him the ball with 2 yards and less and get him the ball more on screens.
Ray Davis
Should be#2 RB and be involved in the offense so much more.
Also: Trade Ray Davis, 2027 1st, 2028 1st to Las Vegas for Maxx Crosby. If Oakland fixed their OLine then they will be insane with Davis as backup. If OLine sucks again Oakland will need all the help they can get, Davis there to help out š
He do need more touches
If I remember correctly, at the beginning of the season last year, Davis had problems with his yards per carry. I remember he struggled gaining yards.
