LANDING SPOTS: What are the likely destinations for Dylan Larkin? What can Steve Yzerman get back?

1. Florida, Minnesota, Dallas, New Jersey are the only logical teams to trade Larkin to, all the other teams do not make sense. Larkin wants to win now, so he will not want to go to these teams people are suggesting that are not legitimate contenders. There is also other teams that are contenders but do not have the young players/prospects/picks to get the deal done, like Tampa, Vegas, Colorado.

   New Jersey isn't really a contender but you have to consider the Hughes factor. Another team he might consider is Winnipeg because of his connection to Kyle Connor and Hellebuyck. People have suggested Toronto because of his dad and some family being from there, but I don't see it happening. Only thing the Leafs have of interest is the 1# pick and I doubt they would be willing to trade that, even if Detroit is willing to add more, like Faulk/Gibson. Toronto will be very motivated though, they are scared of Matthews wanting out and them sucking next year then having to give a lottery pick to Philly.

3. I don't care where Larkin ends up as long as Yzerman doesn't pull another Walman on this franchise.

4. If I was Yzerman I would laugh at him, with 3 teams. We have you under contract for 5 more years. Call me when you give me a realistic list. Who cares what Larkin wants.

5. Danila Yurov, Charlie Stramel, David Spacek, and a future high round draft pick is probably the most Detroit will get. I would be thrilled with this return.

10. What is the logic of Yzerman keeping him around? Anyone that’s been in a locker room knows that cancer grows. Having a disgruntled Larkin in the locker room damages the culture. And those things tend to linger past the player causing it. Everyone’s out for themselves, and other players will notice how he’s treated. It makes no sense to keep saying Yzerman has any cards to play. You’re not gonna keep Larkin around to sit in the press box. I don’t like a player with a no trade clause demanding a trade. That “loophole” needs to change for the good of the game. But it’s here now, and SY has no leverage.

11. i think Scott is trying to cope a little bit, i think Wild have the best shot at doing this. Yurov, Stramel, Spacek and a 1st i think is more than reasonable. 2 awesome center youth, and 1 awesome prospect d man whos already played for team Czechia in the olympics, and a 27 1st

    I don't think Seider will throw in the towel either, but what about Raymond?
    Do you think he'll stay, or will he also submit a request to SY?

    If you take away Raymond’s chemistry with Larkin, who would move up to the first line? Cat and Kasper? Trade for EP40?
    What’s going to happen with Kane? Larkin is leaving such a huge hole. At first I didn’t care, because I was never a Larkin fan, but now it’s turned into hatred for the guy. I understand the desire to win a Cup, but then don’t sign a contract.

13. would prefer a player and a pick in 27'. shaping up to be better draft class. could be a huge draft day with double picks. this should be a quick pivot to a young core up the middle. imo. great show boys!

    Before anyone here thinks, "What a mess?"
    Yeah, I'm just thinking about the players we have and might be able to get, and I'd like to hear some constructive opinions since we have a little time here before anything is finalized.
    In my opinion, Stachowiak wouldn’t be bad for the fourth line, though it’s his nationality that’s to blame—that’s why I like him and his style of play, hahaha

16. "Larkin wants to win now…" Too bad. He made a commitment when he signed his contract. He enjoyed cashing those checks all this time. He is a good player, but is anyone convinced that he had the characteristics to light this team on fire between periods, and when the going got tough? I don't think so. Look at what he's doing now (the going getting tough). The team might be improve more quickly without him; maybe it's not a reset at all.

    Remember not so long ago. Larkin was out with injury, and the team picked up the pieces in surprisingly decent fashion, even with Copp out. It wasn't a big boost when Larkin came back, if you think back. We don't have a championship team here yet, and it's not that much different without a half-hearted Larkin.
