  3. Going after Larkin is exactly the type of move the Rangers should be going for. They have the assets and if they can pull off the trade they take the only competition for a trocheck trade off the table putting him back on top in terms of trade value. And they wouldn’t even have to trade trocheck, the cap space would absolutely work if they kept him.

    The big issue is if Larkin is unwilling to waive his NMC for NY.

  4. Please no. We do not want Larkin. I love Larkin as a player, but Larkin just isn't the guy. We need young wingers and defensemen who can score goals. Not another 30+ injury prone player.

  5. He has a full NMC. So Larkin can pull a Panarin on Detroit and force them to trade him to a specific team for pennies on the dollar. I think Liam Greentree and a conditional 3rd should get it done.

  9. Firstly if this team plays it’s cards right it could be vying for a playoff spot next year. Playing in NY with a top 3 goalie behind you could be enough to make tue Rangers attractive. Also we don’t know why Larkin wants to leave Detroit. Yzerman has a strong personality so it could very well be more than missing the playoffs as Detroit still has some promise. All about what we’d have to give up and if it makes sense with the Trocheck situation.

  10. Build around trochek…..don’t trade him…..he is a blue collar no BS hardworking player….a perfect example for the younger players to model after
