Stenberg has to be the pick. Regardless of who they take, don’t they have to fill out the roster at defense via free agency/trade anyway?
Nice episode! Dicky will be fine. He was up and down as rookie defensemen typically are, especially if they are 19.
Mack should be captain next season and WHEN Stenberg is selected second overall I hope they have a player like Wennberg is ready to host him.
It will be quite the Swede connection with Bystedt, Havelid, Eklund, Wennberg (and growing!).

Drafting someone to get knocked out in the first or 2nd round is not a good move. You can't trade for #1 defenseman.
Love the Dickinson take!🎉 the sharks need to release that guy quick get something out of them because that’s a waste of time and effort on the direction that the sharks need to go. Sorry, but sometimes it doesn’t work out so he needs to go quick because not just the tournament but all season. I have no clue why they didn’t unload that guy. No fault of his own. Some people just can’t cut it in the NHL! Great job on realizing that though.
Take Stenberg and package up #20 and later round picks to move up to get one of the D prospects around 10 to 12. Then its a win-win.
Very big overreaction to Sam’s tourney
We need some bully players that are going to knock some teeth in. To mix in with these guys.
Nobody realizes it yet but we need to sign Chernyshov to an long contract and do it before he blows up. He will be out second best player and bring that toughness. What he did in limited time was amazing.
I feel like people forget that the sharks offense was ONE person… Mack is the offense. Stenberg helps with one of our needs plus the kid plays a 200ft game.
I wonder if a bet on Mukhamadullin for 3 years with a club option for a 4th in the neighborhood of $2.5 million/yr might not be a bad idea. Likely worst case scenario is he is a decent 3rd liner, upside is a good 2nd liner. You aren't spending too much in the first case and have a steal in the 2nd, with cost control through 2030. And I'm sure he'd bite, perhaps for less money, a guaranteed salary through age 27, when he would still be young enough to cash in if he played up.

I would give you our 5th pick, a 3rd, Will Cuylle, 24 years old 3.9m a year ( similar to william eklund only hes more gritter) he scores 20 goals a year and averages 300+ hits a season and EJ Emery, our 1st round round pick, who is a dman. So you will add another 20+ goal scorer in Will Cuylle and a much gritty player, and you can select a dman at the 5th pick, either chase Reid or another good dman

But IF Mats Sundin as the Senior Executive Advisor of Hockey Operations for the Maple Leafs feels a special connection with fellow Swede Stenberg, and the Sharks "ends up" with McKenna, that ain't too shabby either! 😊We can't lose, especially after rising from the #9 to the #2 pick.
