If Leafs trade Knies for Nemec they better get a lot more than Hamilton as the add. Knies is a unicorn powerforward who is proven at the NHL level whereas Nemec hasnt developed like he should. Yes, he has potential but he is very unproven at the NHL level. I would hope Knies has a lot more value than Nemec around the league. If it was Knies for the 14th pick + Nemec + another asset as the base of the deal then maybe we can talk.

For me, im not trading Knies unless a team blows my socks off.
The only reason I would even entertain it is because we have the first overall pick who also will be a left winger, but we do need to start building our defense.
It would take a young d man from Chicago and the 4th overall pick where we can draft another d for me to even continue the phone call.
Why would the leafs trade knies? Seriously, am I the only person that realizes you need a minimum of 9 forwards that can battle in the playoffs. We have 6 if you include mckenna. And for some reason leafs fans and the media misses the core 4 era so bad that they have all 6 of those guys already penciled in the top 6. Imagine if we had a 10+ mil player that could run their own line? Kind of like Mitch in Vegas playing up and down the lineup even at center. Lol now it's mitch against the leafs as if Mitch and Paul both didn't demand to play with Matthews his entire time here. It's laughable. Congrats Mitch, you and daddy finally shut up and did what you are told to do and now you see results.
Binnington ain't going to Edmonton.
Leafs won't trade Knies unless they get a monumental return. He's young, just entering into his prime years, physical power forward with strong skating and offensive skills. Why would you trade that? For what? The only way I see him traded is if the Leafs do a 2 or 3 player trade, say with Matthews. Would you trade Knies for Fraser Minten?
Toronto is not moving Knies. Wake up.

Whoever would trade knies at this point should be fired. As much as the leafs need defenders, they need a guy like knies up front. He is very young, and it’s not like they are going to get the cup next year
Nemec and Hamilton for Knies would be worth entertaining but I still don't think they'd do it.
Feel that finally EP 40 will be traded hopefully not to the Islanders. But this would open up a center position for hometown boy Barzal. The number 3 pick and other assets certainly could be interesting and one to consider if presented. Darche is looking for a young right shot D that could be Chase Reid . To add the best ranked Defender 2 years in a row could appeal to Darche. It certainly will be an interesting draft
