It was another solid season for Penguins’ forward Rickard Rakell, but as the Penguins continue to retool, will he remain a Penguin? Patrick and Hunter continue their season-in-review series, looking at the season that was for Rakell. While he once again put up solid numbers, the most impressive part of his season was the versatility, having to switch from center to wing on multiple occasions. However, as Kyle Dubas continues to look for big swings on the trade market and looks to inject the roster with some youth, could Rakell be on the trading block? (0:00) Wednesday was a rough night for the Penguins’ farm teams as both the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins and Wheeling Nailers dropped their respective games. While the Baby Penguins have a lot of time left to make up for it, the Nailers are now facing a sweep, so how do both teams bounce back? (12:04) Finally, Team Canada and Sidney Crosby dispatched Team USA in the quarterfinals of the World Championships, and for Crosby, his goal-scoring drought finally came to an end as Canada looks to get back to the mountaintop. I am satisfied with the direction of the Pittsburgh Penguins
Dubas should at least listen to offers for Rakell, but he shouldn't actually trade him unless it's an offer too good to refuse. That's how I feel about it.
Losing rak would suck. For me,
it would have to be for a 2c who could slide to 1c if needed. Karlson gets dealt at the deadline if the pens are out of the playoffs.
Dallas has 2 huge weaknesses 1, cap space and 2 they had no forechecking or boardwalk in the playoffs whi h killed them. Both things Rakell helps out so much!! I'd make sure to go after Harley which would help our core defense so very much! Blessings, Victor 🙏
I’m torn on Rakell. I wouldn’t mind trading him if it meant getting a Robertson or Dorofeyev. But my son’s mom is also a flyers fan and I’ve got him liking the pens because of 6 7 lol. So if Rakell goes, someone else on the team HAS to wear 67 so I can definitely keep my son on the good side.
I’m in favor of making bold trades and would trade Rakell but I feel like European players are so undervalued in trades compared to North Americans if his name was Richard Riley you would get alot more for him.
Pens need to move some veterans, we can't keep sitting on old players until they don't have any trade value left. The penguins are best off for their long-term future building through the draft. I think it'd be pretty stupid to give up a bunch of future assets for a player in their late twenties that's going to regress in a couple years.
