  1. OK I’ve said this before we had a great season! A record-setting season. Did we get what we wanted, no! But Bednar is a great coach. Is it his fault that four out of our five top guys couldn’t score a goal in the series? No! Is it his fault that we don’t have a goalie who can pitch a shut out?! No! The only other coach I would like to have on this team is Tortorello and he’s already taken so yeah I hope they don’t do something stupid here. We have two really good goaltenders but we do not have a killer in the net and we need one. Brock Nelson needs to be gone. Martin Neccas. Needs to learn how to play in the playoffs he runs away from his or from any type of confrontation. That’s not gonna work. We just needed to be tougher in the playoffs

  2. I think this team is going to have a serious hang over from this one
The coach has to go! You won't get the respect back from these professionals. And unfortunately I think the AVS are going to need a serious wake up call from personal. I think mckinnon and the AVS need a new look and direction.

  3. Last season they blamed the assistant coach. Sounds like this season they will blame the head coach. The real problem is Chris McFarlane signing players like Nelson and Necas who don't show up for the playoffs.

  4. I strongly believe that Bednar didn’t make any changes when necessary in the last round, we went out and did the same exact thing that wasn’t working 4 times in a row the plays that were being called weren’t effective and that’s the reason why I think we need a change

  5. I think Bednar's demure, relaxed coaching style is generally a positive factor in the throes of a long season. However, where Tortorella excels is in getting his players to reach that added layer of intensity that the playoffs demand – particularly the farther along in the playoffs you get. The 2022 Cup run kind of masked that, because that was a crazy stacked team which – unlike this year's playoff experience – received consistent contributions from top to bottom, and happened to draw favorable matchups throughout.

The recipe for defeating this year's Avalanche was clear, but difficult to achieve: Slow down and prevent rush chances, and find a way to capitalize on opportunities. The Kings were good with the former but not with the latter. The Wild arguably were better on the latter, but their own play style and outstanding injuries were not conducive to the former. Vegas under Tortorella was the one team all season that demonstrated an ability to do both against this team, and on a consistent basis. I don't necessarily blame Bednar for the way Vegas played, but I do think the team's very obvious, stupid mistakes throughout this series belied a lack of intensity to meet the moment, and that does reflect poorly on the head coach. I am almost positive Tortorella would not have countenanced that lackadaisical play from his players.

  6. I would have said no he is the best we could do until about 2 months ago or so. PP sucked all year but the fact that they did this triple drop pass to Nate to gain the zone for nearly 5 months and 2 months ago the league as a whole adapted to it. Once the league learned to just stand Nate up at the blue line it falls apart the coaching should have moved on to the next plan. Show these teams something new so you are unpredictable. The last 2 or 3 months looked like coach Klein from the Waterboy with "the complete coaching guide for idiots" book that the rest of the league has a copy of. You add that with everything else I think it might be time to take a fresh look at coaching. This roster is too good and still in their primes. We can win 2 or 3 with this group if the correct changes are made.

  7. Last offseason the Avs should have brought Danny Hinote in as the Power Play coach. He was right up the road lighting it up with the Eagles. Instead we delayed and let Tampa steal him!! Hakstal was bad!!

  8. I feel like he did not adjust to Vegas' defense. I don't think he has ever changed his play to a team that is beating us in the playoffs since he started. We have a great team and can beat anyone (granted the team will be different next year) – but we never adjusted. The proof of a coaching change being needed is Vegas… They changed their coach to a better one only weeks ago and are doing way better. They are adjusting to their opponents style of play.

  9. I definitely push for new coaches and office staff. The same issue of getting into the Offensive zone was an issue throughout the playoffs. Avs were just lucky Kings were just so meh of a team and the Wild couldn't keep up with the Avs speed but both times they would hold the Avs up at the blue line. Vegas just did it so perfectly and never let the Avs setup to take shots. My other general issue through the year was that the Avs rely on their goalies too much and could use better defensive strategy.

  10. Bednar had absolutely no answers for how Vegas was playing them. Rmember the last time they played Vegas in playoffs. ERxact same results
