  1. What are you guys talking about? Comparing Martin Necas play-off performance in Colorado vs Carolina is like night and day. And I'm speaking as someone who's watching him since 2016 (in our Czech league). It's true that in Carolina his play-offs were not good but this year he's got 13 points in 13 games. One of the top guys in assists with most of them being primary. What I don't understand is why did Bednar put him in front of the net? That should be Landescot's spot with Nate and Martin being on sites getting shots on goal. Trade Necas? Hell no. The whole team played like crap vs Vegas and there were guys who dissapeared completely like Nichuskin or Kadri.

  2. Necas is only good in open ice when he has time and space. Regular season superstar but sucks in the playoffs when the ice shrinks. Avs got fleeced in that trade lol

  3. Steve and Adam are defending Colorado a bit too much. Avalanche focus too much on Nathan and Makar. Nathan would make a bad captain because he seems to be too emotional and all over the place. Landeskog is a real leader and really shows leadership skills.
I mean its great to watch Nathan to make awesome moves on ice but these teams which are build around superstars usually fail because they don't play as "a team" as much as for example Vegas. Avs are praying for a "rain maker" or a "Jesus" but the prophesy will never be fulfilled. It's the same with Oilers. Teams like Vegas or Panthers are build for playoffs and the players are treated more as equals.

  4. Canes fan here and I love Necas, but yeah, that’s the kind of thing he does and it gets exposed in the playoffs. He’ll try to go 1 on 4, do a couple of spins and then just turn the puck over. Incredible skater and very talented, but he either looks like a world beater or is getting completely caved in, you won’t get a medium between those two

  5. Landy was unreal this year. He broke his ribs and Cale exploded his crotch and the rest of the year he was amazing. Necas is the only guy who can skate with Nate, Landy and Lehky were interchangeable as strong forecheck ers who can dig it out for Necas and Nate.

  6. i was against it at the start but the people saying nate and necas need to both drive their own line are right. they both play basically the same style and from the same spot.

  7. I would rather still keep Rantanen, his chemistry with mackinnon was unparalleled. I am not saying necas is not good and I know lots of avs fans defend that trade. Whatever, they can win a cup in the future to prove they win that trade

  8. As a fan of the Avs I really believe that Mackinnon and to a lesser extent Maker should not have played those last two games of the series. They became a liability to the play the system the Avalanche play, and the reason that Bednar should potentially get let go is because he didn't just the game plan. They kept trying to be a skilled team with all their skilled players hurt. They should have in my opinion, gone straight to basics. Pucks in deep, shots on goal, men in front of the goalie. Especially with their depth, that could have worked. Instead, we got a team that couldn't play to their identity but kept on trying to. That's what cost them the chance to get to the cup final. Bednar is in his last year on his contract so let him play it out and see what happens, but he's gotta be able to change the game plan, and call a time out to refocus the team when things get screwy, for the love of god, he has to do better.

  9. I understand you really, really want to get the Leafs to have Jared Bednar, but he isn't going anywhere. Not yet anyway. All coaches are replacable in the NHL of course, but he did get them the Presidents trophy this year, and did get them deep in the playoffs. And already has a cup for the team. Firing him is not a rational take.
