So on the cates future. with coots and Dvorak locked up for years to come and berglund and nesbitt coming in next 2 years. Where is the upgrade at C going we have too many wings as is so can’t bump cates or Dvorak over. With him not getting any Clause in contract don’t you think he’s the guy heading out?

The two best checking teams in the league will be playing for the Cup. Torts was right, its the teams that check the best that make it, and as Torts says, its not about hitting, there are 40 different things under the umbrella of checking, and Vegas ans Carolina do them better than anyone else. Its a good lesson for the Flyers and the fans, its not about getting the McDavids or McKinnons, its about building a fast team that has solid depth throughout the lineup. The Flyers have depth and will have size, but they lack speed and that is what Briere should be focusing on.
like the TK contract the Vladar contract is a mistake
I think the plan should be clear out the backlog at RW and bring in a 1C. If that is the plan Foerster contractually would be the likely piece to be moved. Konecny makes big money with a NMC, Tippett makes a lot of money. Martone and Michkov (?) are viewed as foundational pieces. Foerster is the extra guy in that scenario. Sign Vladar ASAP; the price will only go up. I'd be fine with 4 years and couldn't give a S what two 20-year-old prospects who have never seen the NHL 'feel' about it.
