The problem here that mucks it all up is Malhotra. He should not go that high. He’ll be a middle-six at best, and a great 3rd line centre on a future contender. Sure, on a mid team he’s a 2C, but they are not winning a cup any time soon. I don’t get why people can’t see reality

I get why every team's mock draft and many scouts have the Sharks taking Reid, but I believe you will all be wrong.
First, the only reason to take Reid is 'need' and I have not found one yet that does not think doing is a reach. They seem to agree on that, but what they do not agree on is how much of a reach it is.
Second, teams that have done this have almost never fared well. The latest of this line of futility were the Devils – who – were in the exact situation the Sharks are now in. They had too many good forward prospects and just needed that last element of their prospect pool. The ever elusive first pair RD.
So the Devils picked Simon Nemec and passed on Logan Cooley, Shane Wright and Cutter Gauthier. Cooley is the biggest miss of the three and another big one is Gauthier. Either would have looked better in a Devils jersey.
Just one year later the Devils would trade for Timo Meier giving up a lot of assets because they needed a forward. Just two years after passing on Cooley. Imagine.
Third, GMMG has stated for years now he will draft BPA. And just to fix any confusion for anyone who may have forgotten he said so multiple times this offseason. BUT I will say it is his BPA and not anyone else's.
But why BPA? What GMMG said was the Sharks are still too early in the 'build' portion of the rebuild to draft for need. He is going to take his BPA, not draft for need as he said.

Guys, the Jets can't take another winger. They've drafted one, 1st round "actual C" in the higher part of the 1st round in 15 years. And it was in 2011.

If Tommy Bleyl is available to the Canucks at 32, they would be crazy not to take him. Heck, I would take him at 24.

The Capitals are super unlikely to take Suvanto, because they just don’t draft Finnish players. I believe the last Finn that Washington drafted was in 2006. I feel like Washington is in a place to gamble on potential upside, so if Klepov is available at their pick I think they’ll go with him. Would love Lin as well.
