You talk about points letting and keeping shirts. They did that 2 years ago when they let Gostibere walk then bring in free agents Hamonic and JBD.
Look deeper into VGK’s year. It’s based on health a lot.
WITH Mark Stone (11th this yr points per game between Eichel/Suzuki…60 games 73pts +26 which is 100 points +36 pace over 82 games….He’s also #1 by far in takeaways per game since 17-18 with the others in Top10 among best players in NHL)
this year they played at a 103 point pace (32-17-12)
vs 78 point pace without him (8-9-5).
They were also missing good 2 way center Wild Bill Karlsson since November!
With Torts now they’re 19-4-1 which is best record ever pace over entire season especially considering that includes 5-0 vs Aves, 1-0 @ Edm, 8-4 vs 🦆🦣!
VGK also (as mentioned here) had good underlying numbers this year but were 28th in save %. If they just got avg goaltending they’re a 105+ point team and with top5 type goaltending and great health clear Top3 title contender type team. As a Maple Queefs comedy lover I hope Vegas wins cup with Marner Conn Smythe than Matthews wins a cup with🦈or 🦆! Hell let’s give Nylander one too!😅
VGK have cap issues what do you think of taking Thomas Hertl off their hands? Gives us a #2 center.
Finnie is that +1 late round draft pick that the Red Wings used to find regularly.

If Viggo Bjorck was 6’2” he’s a lock top3 in any draft!
He’s nearly 5’10” (5’9.75 and could grow to 5’10+” as he just turned 18 in March) at 16/17 did historic things at every level of Sweden!

He legit reminds me some of a poor man’s Crosby (who he models his game after. Crosby gave him major props after their first matchup). Also has some Benson, Marchand, Stevie Y, Johnny Hockey to him! Many of the best hockey players ever are 5’9” to just barely 6 feet!
Frondell (#3 for my Blackhawks last year who had 9 points in first 12 games at 19) has said “Viggo is best 2 way player I’ve played with.”
If my Blackhawks don’t walk away from this draft with IVAR or VIGGO I’ll be pissed just like I was when we passed on DEMIDOV! If they’re both gone and we get McKenna/Reid/Carels I won’t be mad, but I personally am not sold at all on one year wonder Malhotra or Verheoff/Smits. Praying Canucks take Malhotra #3!

The team doesn’t have a problem with guys who are just jerseys. It has a locker room problem that makes it acceptable for guys to just be just jerseys. I don’t know if it’s on Yzerman, the coach, or the players but until the culture in the locker room changes I don’t think it really matters who our bottom 6 guys are, we’re going to have guys underperforming . I like to blame Larkin because he’s the captain and he sounded like a bitch the previous year when he was complaining about not getting help at the trade deadline.🤷🏻♂️

Kane hasn't even been a defensive liability as a Wing.
He's been a plus at 5v5 all 3 seasons, only Cat can say that. Yes he gets good o-zone starts but his o-zone starts in DET are actually his career lows, like 10% or more lower than in Chicago. And he's a plus at 5v5 all 3 years despite terrible linemate mismanagement much of the time and a bad 5v5 team. And his on-ice GA per 60 at 5v5 as a Wing is lower than Seider and Cat, and way lower than Larkin and Raymond.
This past year, once put w proper linemates (Copp/Cat), Kane was +15 at 5v5 from Dec 1 thru game 81. While being 2nd on the team for the season in 5v5 points per 60 on on-ice GF per 60. And from Dec 1 on, he was 2nd in 5v5 points per 60 not just by a bit over Raymond but by a lot. And tied for the team lead in 5v5 goals w Cat over the last 36 games.
Shoutout to that kid that sent in the trash talking bit to TNT at the start of the conference finals where he said "MacKinnon was going to sell the WCF as hard as he sold the Olympics" LOL
