Danny Briere didn’t hold back. When Porter Martone signed his entry-level contract with the Flyers this spring, the Philadelphia GM went out of his way to praise Michigan State’s coaching staff, strength program, and development culture — saying the “whole staff was really impressed” with what MSU did with their guy.
Martone posted 50 points in 35 games as a freshman, added 12 pounds of muscle, and immediately contributed to a Flyers playoff push. The Michigan State pipeline is officially endorsed at the highest level of the Philadelphia organization.
So with the 2026 NHL Draft in Buffalo coming up on June 26-27 — and the Flyers picking 21st and 53rd — we’re breaking down the four MSU pipeline prospects who could realistically land in Philadelphia.

Don’t try to make it seem like Brooks R wasn’t a decent prospect coming into this past season dudes been legit. I still can’t believe he’s mocked at 41 last time I checked he’s such a good defensive forward can probably switch to center if needed it’s not like he’s slow either if the flyers are dumb enough to trade two first round picks for Fkin Nesbitt Brooks would be a great pick around 30 he’s already a better all around player than Nesbitt. I would love Oscar Hemming or Malte Guffstavson if Roebrook notvey are gone.
Tommy Bleyl @ 21!! Has the upside to be the next Cale Makar. Speed, skill and going to MSU!!!
very good overview. After taking a look at a few things. Danny might want to package the 53 and 85 to move up. He has a good shot to get at least 2 of the 4 you mention. To me Klepov would be awesome IF he makes it to us at 21, but let's say he doesn't to me. Hextall and Bleyl make the most sense. They need scoring and power play help. These two guys make the most sense there. We shall see
