SJ goes Ivar you still go best player it's a no brainer! Buid from goaly out? Can't buy right handed D?😊
Picking Malhotra at 3rd overall would be a big mistake. He isn’t trending for a 1C and we have both Rossi at 2C & Cootes as a potential 2C. Get a 1st line winger if no projected 1C is around.
Stenberg over Malholtra … . Stengerg has a longer track record of being top prospect , Malholtra is on a tear climbing the list .. Is it him or is it a one off spurt and he peters out .. Stenberg ALL DAY LONG
Just keep in mind that Chase Reid weighed his options at age 16 and decided to play in Canada.
If you're the Canucks you take BPA without question. They are lacking talent in every position.
Only teams that should consider positional needs are those that are close to competing.
Like a lot of posters, I also believe the Canucks should take best player available. We have needs at every position. Imagine the Canucks defense if they draft Chase Reid:
Hronek, Willander, Buium, D Petey, Reid..I left Marcus Pettersson off the list because I hope the Canucks can trade him for a pick. No disrespect to the player but he signed here thinking the Canucks were going to be competitive so they should trade him. All that said, if Stenburg is on the board at 3, you pick him.
If its stenberg that falls to the nucks, see what blackhawks will offer for 3rd to swap to 4th. Get a nice package and take the one they didnt choose
Malhotra + big chicago package for effectively stenberg may be worth it to help the rebuild even more
Stenberg > Reid > Carels > Bjork or Malholtra.
Stenberg all day for me.
Vancouver Has Always Liked Their Swedes And The Sundin Twins Know How Talented & Skilled Both Ivar Stenberg & Viggo Bjorck Are:
I Would Not Be Surprised If They Wangled A Deal For Both.
BPA: McKenna/Stenberg/Bjorck/Reid/Verhoeff/Malhotra/Carels/Smits/Rudolph/Lawrence/Belchetz
If either McKenna or Stenberg drops to 3rd, Canucks must draft them. But if any other top 6 pick team want to trade up with us, we might take that offer and grab Malhotra instead.
Lets hope for Ivar and Viggos sake Vancouver dont pick them…
In a complete tear down rebuild, you take BPA, especially if you have a top 3 pick. I think RJ and the Sedins know that.
