How the NHL is remembering the Gaudreau Brothers

The hockey community was stunned by the tragic loss of Johnny Gaudreau and his brother, Matthew Gaudreau. Canadiens star, Cole Caulfield decided to change his number to 13, following Gaudreau’s passing, in a tribute to Johnny who helped pave the way for undersized youth hockey players who had aspirations of playing the NHL. While we all mourned, nobody was hit harder by this tragedy than the friends and family of the Gaudreau’s. The Flyers and John Tortorella decided to invite Guy Gaudreau, Johnny and Matt’s father, to help coach team practices during this preseason.

  1. I play at the Hollydell Ice Arena (they were wearing old triple A jerseys, which that team is now called The Philadelphia Hockey Club) it is sad to see them go, the arena and people around the rink placed sticks, jerseys, skittles, and purple Gatorade. I started on the rink where a Johhny Gaudreau signature was at and when I grew up, I also did and still do wear the number 13.
