Did the New Jersey Devils just make a smart move or a huge mistake?

  1. Thank god Rogalski is gone. In saying that I think sheldon keefe is a good coach who was being told what style to play by Fitzgerald and didn’t have much of a say and hopefully that’s correct and we can get back to winning.

  2. I think at some point Keefe said it's his job as a HC to make the GM's vision come into reality. That tells me that they had conversations about the way that they envisioned the way the team should play and that based on the end results, there was a mismatch between the roster constructed and the style of play that they agreed that the Devils should play for a good chunk of the season. That being said, Keefe was obviously a part of that conversation too, so I hope that now two years in, he has a better sense of the strengths (and shortcomings) of this roster.

  3. Remember that Sheldon Keefe was also a favourite of Kyle Dubas. Dubas, like Sunny, is an analytics guy. Its possible that Keefe has a solid reputation in that community. Now with Fitz out of the way, we can see what Keefe's style truly looks like.
