If they can’t get Cassidy Darryl Sutter is someone they should look at as they need better focus/toughness which he brings.
I know some people aren’t fans of his, but he’s objectively a very good coach. 7th most playoff wins EVER and Kings were very good 2012-2014 winning cup, losing conference finals, winning cup. Also took my Blackhawks to WCF in 95, Flames to Finals Game 7 L in 04 Finals. Had Flames good in 2022 too.
You guys are both MASSIVELY sleeping on Viggo Bjorck. Would be shocked if he doesn’t go 3-7 somewhere and if he falls to Panthers at #9 the league will regret. He’s done unprecedented historic things at 16/17 and barely 18 in Sweden.
Vegas has bent the rules so many times, they should send him an offer and deal with the fall out.

Vegas paying 4.5 mil to keep Cassidy from working in Edmonton, after most likely leaking the fact that oilers were asking to speak to him.. would be so petty and disgusting. And kinda funny 😭🙃🙃
Knobs time is done, when your players don't believe in you. BUT, these players have to get on board. Oilers need a hard nosed, defensive coach. Detroit never would have won cups until Yzerman and the rest would not have started to playing defense. Yzerman went from a 100+ point player to 80+, but they won cups.
Another coach that panics and continues to put McDavid and Drai, 5 on 5, is not what we need.

Also I know the Oilers were in on Brock Boeser do the Canucks just trade him for very little to "Do right" by him.
They Canucks also fired Kevin Dean and the rest of the Assistants. So I guess if we get Cassidy, he can get his trusted friend in Dean.
What happens if the team does poorly, and has to fire Manny? How would Caleb take that? would he ask for a trade?
I think the Media should keep making Cassidy a distarction in the next round.
Have Toronto hire Cassidy, and trade him to Edmonoton for a pick.
Vancouver probably won't allow Maholtra to interview anywhere til they decide who they are going to hire.

But also remember the tax implications of being in Canada working. Even for McDavid to finish career. Say he goes to Tampa at 20 mil per year, he ends up with 17 mil of that, if he does that in Canada he ends up with 10-11. It makes a difference especially later in your career.
Just something to keep in mind. The difference is not nothing. Know it is all American dollars and it is a lot of money either way, but it has to have a consideration
