I'm still pissed almost 50 years later that I didn't go to the hardware store with my dad because Darryl was there. Tiger also lived just up the street from us and missed him a few times as well. 😂🤬

Funny enough a week later at the Metro in the same plaza on Kennedy Rd. I met Tretiak. Both great players both great people to talk with and meet.
What a decade for centermen: Esposito, Perreault, Clarke, Dionne, Sittler, Ratelle, Mahovlich, Trottier, Lemaire. Clarke said it all. Sittler wasn't the best player, but he was one of the best in every aspect in the game. In Maple Leafs history, no one comes close to him in my opinion. Winning a Stanley cup or not has nothing to do with one player, it's a team result.

I have been a leaf fan my entire life. Born in ‘62, I have witnessed the highs and the lows. I strongly believe the Toronto Maple a leaf history would have been much more successful had Harold Ballard never owned the team. Since he did, I long felt his death should have been many years earlier. He brought nothing but shame and disgrace to the organisation.
