Did the Oilers Just Force Their Own Coaching Change?

Did the Oilers Just Force Their Own Coaching Change?

Another episode of Ask Dubey is here, and this week there’s only one place to start… the Edmonton Oilers coaching drama.

Dubey breaks down the Bruce Cassidy rumours, why the Oilers may have backed themselves into a corner with Kris Knoblauch, and what really changes inside an NHL room when a new coach takes over. He also dives into whether players actually care about individual awards, the “Canadian market advantage” debate, and gives his thoughts on the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Plus, Dubey shares some personal stories from his own NHL career while explaining how situations like this play out behind the scenes.

  1. Vegas are the most brutal management in the NHL! They treat players and coaches as commodities not assets! Torts will be fired soon after the Avalanche sweeps them !

  2. Why the Oilers never went after Hart I don't understand, considering their track record with "bad boy" players, like Mac T convicted of vehicular homicide, including prison time. Hart was found NOT GULITY, and where is Vegas now people?!

  3. Leon and Connor both knew what their end year statements would do. They knew very well the coach would be the first on the chopping block so… I doubt he was liked after this year. He never had a plan, a system or roles for players.
