  1. Im all in keeping Giroux and poor Cuz. They provide much needed vet presence..and that most punchable face trophy needs to stay.

  2. Ottawa is the definition of a pretender right now. Good enough to get in, not good enough to do anything. If the goal is to win a cup, this roster doesn't cut it, at least not in the next 2-3 years. I hope they can find some value in free agency and in trade over the summer. Right now it's not the time to pull the trigger on something big, but they have the advantage of time.

  3. Just having the level of productivity of Jensen, when four years ago with his team which was then Washington, that's productivity they need to go deeper in the playoffs next year. Blocked shots and hitting that Canada's second best team has when they play Kaiden Guhle. Maybe if they can move up 32nd pick to get Malte Gustavsson, I'd try and do that if I were the GM.

  4. Biggest mistake last season was letting Forsberg walk without securing a proven backup. Need to right that wrong this summer

  5. I feel like we burned ourselves out a bit down the stretch. Our playoffs was making the playoffs. We also ran into a wall in Carolina, who plays a better version of our game. The backup goaltending needs to be fixed. Ullmark is good for 50 games a year at the very best. Hopefully our penalty killing isn't so awful next year. A finishing top 6 winger would be nice to add as well, but options are limited in free agency. We have very little in terms of up and coming prospects (excepting Yakemchuk). Trading multiple firsts and seconds for Chychrun and Debrincat definitely hurt us.

  6. Trade away Chabot and never mention the name Jensen again and we might make the playoffs next year. Just like at the end of last year, you have to think that playoffs will be just as hard to get it if not harder next year…

  7. Sens are the 17th youngest (bottom half), 3rd heaviest, 5th tallest, and 17th most experienced. Being tall and large can be good when you are experienced or young, but otherwise it means slow with too high a center of balance. I feel for Ullmark but he might need to take some time away from hockey to sort out his issues. Some might ask if that is fair to him but the flipside is to ask if it is otherwise fair to the other 27 players on his team. I am sure they are all behind him 100% as far as wishing him well but their own careers being on hold in the meantime seems unfair too.

  8. Shannon is a casual. Have no idea how someone who can watch that much hockey thinks the Sens are an average/above average defensive team.

Best defensive metrics in the NHL, cmon dude

  9. The Tkachuk family podcast hasn’t done anyone any favors. Brady Tkachuk is under contract till 2028. I doubt he finishes that contract with the Senators.

  10. Seen quite a few rumours that they are shopping around for Skinner to be a backup goalie. To be fair, I've always liked Skinner. He would be a solid number 2 with a heavy workload.

  11. Ullmark was a lot better after he came back from his mental health break. If he can bounce back next season from the beginning, Sens will be fine for goaltending.

  12. Unfortunately the Sens window is now closed. Brandy tkasuck is leaving, Giroux dont want to play there, Ullmark makes way to much money, the fans dont go to the games.

Its a train wreck, and i live in ottawa

  13. Can they? Absolutely. The way they play is amazing, but where it’s scary is that there is no one coming up the pipeline. They need to have better goaltending, get a better backup, and ideally fortify the top 6 because aside from Stützle, Cozens, Tkachuk and Batherson, they don’t have another legit top 6 guy. Staios has to figure things out externally. But if they play the same way and get those additions, they can absolutely be a top 3 Atlantic team.

  14. They have to get ahead of the Tkachuk situation, trade him this summer and get as much as possible cuz he’s leaving. Deal involving Tkachuk for Robert Thomas. Or Tkachuk for Robertson. Let’s GO!

  15. If their goaltending was just average this season they would have been.

If Ullmark plays anything like he did in the playoffs, the team will be in great shape next year.

Unfortunately their top line went cold against Carolina and they had a single healthy top 6 defenceman. You can't win with only 1 of your top 6 D.

  16. Enough is enough. They gotta switch things up or we’re gonna be here having the same conversation. Guys like Zub and Tkachuk are unreliable and inconsistent. Also Batherson is Josh Norris 2.0

  17. Few tweaks here and there. Linus REALLY proved his worth during the playoffs, though. Yeah, swept 4 games, but they were all tight games (except that last one … we won't talk about that), and he had a great run. If we can get some bigger guys who want to protect players, that would be great! McDermott … I'm sorry … he just seemed never wanting to fight. Unless I'm missing something.
But all in all, great things to look forward to next year!

  18. Sorry if it sounds toxic, but i think Ottawa will only get higher in the standings once Tkhachuk becomes the player he thinks he already is, no this isn't simply taking another step said in a different way, Brady doesn't strike me as the kind of player thats always working on his game year after year … he's made it and keeps doing the same thing that made him reach the NHL … which makes him not reach that other level everyone knows he can.

Maybe im totally wrong, but it is obvious that he started stagnating and we've all seen him doing 80 points a couple seasons ago, he has the talent to do it again, maybe not the mindset.
