While the Hurricanes are a better team this season than in previous seasons, there is a concern….their possible conference finals opponent. During the regular season, Carolina was 2-1 against Buffalo, but 0-3 against Montreal. That is a concern. You may say that those games were the regular season and that's now meaningless. However, that may mean that Montreal knows how to game-plan a way to defeat Carolina. I want our 'Canes to win the Cup this year. Montreal (if they get past Buffalo) may be a serious impediment to that. The 'Canes will have to have their A game times 10 in the next round.
As a Caniac, I’m frustrated as hell with the National media (and especially the Canadian media) double standards about the Canes. They’re always overlooking them, claiming the Canes are overrated, have a weak schedule, da da da da da. Yet, if it was any Canadian team, there would be platitudes out the ass.
My dream is to see the Canes SWEEP BUF/MON and then sweep in the cup finals. They would be the ONLY TEAM to win a SC UNDEFEATED. And yet the expert analysts and Media would still find a way to diminish THAT accomplishment. Not going to happen, but would be DELICIOUS IF IT DID. GO CANES!!!!
I’m sick of our fanbase constantly chasing validation from national media. Who cares. We’re in the mix and we’re winning. Most of the critics don’t watch the games they just go with the lazy unoriginal takes.

We didn't get respect when we made the finals in 2002 or when we won in 2006.
