Wedgwood did great up to this point. At any rate, its more than just goalie performance, there needs to be more defense around the net assisting the goalie.

Team D was lacklustre all through the lineup. They took a night off but will regroup and reset and come back hard. Go Avs.
He flew with the team for the 2 game stretch, so "he's available" means he's playing, because they need him. I rate it as a bigger certainty than Blackwood playing, which is pretty high.
My concern with Blackwood is I haven't liked the way the team has been playing in front of him as a starter.

This is not like another team putting in a backup. Blackwood had slightly under half the team's regular season starts and finished in the top 10 of all NHL goaltenders in goals-against per game (to include better GA/G than two of the three Vezina Trophy finalists). A lot of other teams would love to have him as a starting option. The Avalanche are a true tandem and Wedgewood probably could use a break and a reset as they've been leaning on him a lot so far.
