The Stadium Series weekend was phenomenal. I enjoyed it more than the Super Bowls.
Will we be signing more US Olympic players that do not feel comfortable playing in Canada anymore?
Sorry JBB but Milan was a perfect experience for Team USA 🇺🇸 thanks for what you do for the Lightning ⚡️⚡️⚡️
more fans ? maybe the fact the coyotes moved to Utah and dont play in a 5k stadium anymore
heated rivalry also has grown the game, probably the biggest grower of the game this year
The number of OT games has nothing to do with parity, and everything to do with teams playing for OT to get the loser point. It's one of the worst aspects of not just the NHL, but professional sports as a whole. The NHL is the only professional sports league in the world that rewards the loser. Teams have changed how they play because of this, a close game in the third period and teams start playing for OT. Just an awful idea from every conceivable angle, the definition of "everyone gets a trophy" mentality.
LA had either the most, or second most, loser points in the league (I forget). They had the third fewest regulation wins in the NHL, and made the playoffs. There's no defense of that, simply inexcusable. So, of course, they get slaughtered in the first round. Why wouldn't they? They, objectively, were not a playoff caliber team. They just happened to lose "at the right time" during the regular season, and were handed a playoff spot because of it. Truly disgraceful. The league might be growing, but the existence of the loser point is going to inhibit that growth, very few people want to see the losing team rewarded with a gain in the standings, it completely defeats the purpose of competition.
