Detroit Red Wings LEGEND on if Steve Yzerman SHOULD BE FIRED!?!

1. After seven years as GM, how can Yzerman say "we need better players" and keep the same pro scouting in place?

   As fans, why are you expecting a different result?

2. Guys you're making excuses. Yzerman is the dying and rotting in the locker room. There are no prospects coming.. Yzermans prospects are trash.. Yzerman has traded away Bertuzzi, he has given away Walman, he has let Gostisbehere, Yamamoto, Kostin, Lyon.. walk! He has given away our 1st round pick for a 35 year old 3rd pairing defenseman!! Here is more of his past mistakes.. he extended Berggren, Veleno, Rasmussen, Zadina.. WTF he over paid Copp, Compher, Appleton, Docker, Holl, Husso, Gustafson.. 7 years of bad signings, extensions, and drafts… The reason why the team was "good" early.. was because they played 3 more games than everyone else when they were 1st place!! And only 10 points separated top and 9th.. Wings were NEVER great! They had a negative goal differential!! They were the only team in the top 8 with a negative goal differential!! Lyon > Gibson.. WTF

3. Folks continuing to talk about Tarasenko… he had 3g 10a prior to the trade that brought in Hughes. He was on pace for Detroit numbers. Hughes comes in, and suddenly he's the best thing since sliced bread. I'm not saying there isn't something wrong in the room, but let's not pretend Tarasenko went to Minnesota and immediately became a beast. He was mid before Hughes.

6. This show should be called the Wings GM Apologist Show.

   “…Joke Retreads” Like the kind this GM has brought to town year after year: Appelton, JVR, Perron, Holl (2 years), Gustafsson, Hamonic, Mrazek, Petry, the Walman debacle, Husso, Reimer, 5×5 Compher, extended Rasmussen, just off the top of my head. Spencer talking about the great drafting is of note, too. Must have missed the great job Cossa is doing for GR in the playoffs. You'll shoot back with something along the lines of other names. Well, after seven years, where are they? Sophomore slumps, first liners with 30 points and over ripening in the minors. Danielson appears to be Veleno skating and Compher offense. Seven years and what do you have? A top pair D, a wimpy first line wing, a few middle six forwards and at best, a PP specialist D in the mold of Gostisbehere.

7. Bad chemistry and lack of an alpha on and off ice. Watching the same collapse at the same time every season with different players and coaches isn't a coincidence. This is all on management and choices. Saying that nothing can be done and we should just keep doing the same thing is outright loser talk. Expect the same shit next season if this is how it's going to be.

   Keep in mind that I'm not including Seider, Cat, or Finnie in this rant.

8. No excuse for the lame free agents, but name me one team still in the playoffs that wasnt built in the draft or by the attractiveness of the location, Vegas. Everybody up until this year was no way on trading larkin, now 70% of you at least want him gone, if he traded larkin before this year youd all want his head. Bottom line how many top 3 draft picks have the wings had in your lifetime. Im waiting…you dont build a team in free agency and if you dont start with an anchor player, which he didnt have til he drafted seider, you're gonna be fighting an uphill battle. That locker room needs to be blown up, but thats gonna piss off everybody who just wants a medicore team that makes the playoffs. The nhl is not gonna do any favors for the wings, like they have for larger market teams like toronto, Chicago, san jose and even annaheim, so what do you want, to keep chasing mediocrity or to blow it up, pray for a top 3 pick and trade a ton of assets for less assets that are higher value? Had they retained their first round pick ot still would have only been the #15 pick which baring a mirscle is a developmental player. Also you want a better lottery pick, then show up and show out at the games to convince the nhl this is a large enough market. The days of getting more than one superstar past the top 3 picks are nearly gone, it can happen, bu it takes a little bit of luck and even then your not getting a guy coming out the gates as a superstar. Pav and z took 3 years to reach superstar point production.

9. Steve said it was his fault. He said, our players aren't good enough! That is on Steve! He isn't a good GM.

10. It's on the players. The GM can only do so much, the coach can only do so much. They can't go out and play for the players. Players don't hate losing, they say they do but they dont show it. Players are too soft and have no marbles.

11. They never picked 5th. They were never 1st place by winning percentage. Yzerman put this soft ass roster together. Yzerman has repeatedly resigned guys that are part of the problem. Debrincat basically brought himself here. Yzerman has waaaay more blunders than good moves. He has set this team back for years. He never sells when he should have. He keeps guys until they’re unmovable. He’s been terrible at assets management. Not even getting into the Cossa move. There’s no way he shouldn’t have at least 5 games by now. He’s scared that he’s going to be a bust. He didn’t have to move up to get Cossa. Yzerman has straight up done a shit job!!
