30. We are seeing TO in all its glory, they have a first over all pick and of course they take the person named first over all. TO has the worst blue line core in the NHL, There are two grade A D men in the top five, like Makar, like Hughes but no they take another forward. They get what they deserve. Mathews and Nylander said they love TO and never want to leave, except once the season is over they go home. What else would they say. Rogers is getting to be as disfunctional as the US WH. Guys in the play offs are playing with fractures, Bystander dips cause he has a head ache.

33. I don't want to bust their fun, but what unlike Steve said, it doesn't change much the whole picture, though it would make a rebuild less painful. The Leafs still need to blow it up, their defense is still suspect, we do not who's their first goaltender, and they now do not have their first round picks for the next two seasons, which likely be very good picks. Whoever they pick now, will not have a massive impact next season and the Leafs likely won't be good in the near future. The Atlantic will be even better next year with Florida's likely comeback and Buffalo + Montreal getting better.

    All options need to be on the table, Matthews retained will fetch a king's ransom so the option got to be on the table. Even Nylander at some point though you can't retain salary.
