The Montreal Canadiens had a golden opportunity to close it out at home—but the Tampa Bay Lightning forced a Game 7 with a dramatic 1-0 overtime win in Game 6.
Gage Goncalves played the hero, scoring the OT winner at 9:03, while Andrei Vasilevskiy delivered a 30-save shutout in a goaltending duel for the ages. Jakub Dobes was outstanding at the other end, stopping 32 shots, but it wasn’t enough as Tampa survives.
Now it all comes down to Game 7 in Tampa.
