Los Angeles Kings captain Anze Kopitar bid farewell to the NHL after the Kings were eliminated on Sunday and was congratulated by several Colorado Avalanche players in the post-game handshake line including longtime opponent Brent Burns, who skated across from the Kings captain 101 times between the regular season and playoffs. Kopitar then spoke to media while being flanked by his children Neza and Jakob, who he plans to spend more time with as a full-time dad.

Were gonna miss you kopitar❤️
Absolute class from both Kopitar and the Avs, you love to see it. It's gotta be hard to repeat "good luck the rest of the way" after just being eliminated in your last game. From an Avs fan, thank you for the legacy you're leaving, Kopitar!
His gonna come back doing something for LA at least just as a fan in the arena right 😢
Pure class on and off the ice. He will enjoy the next chapter of life with the kiddos. We will miss him playing. Best of luck Kopi
