  1. At least his point total to salary paid was a better deal than our $11,600 000 flop.

  2. I don't have any hard feelings for the guy.
I never saw him as an answer to anything Vancouver needed. Just a more expensive older Dak.
His stats got padded over the years by playing with McDavid and Drai and Vancouver management fell for the pumped stats.
He was never a goal scorer outside of like two years a decade ago. He was slow, he didn't have a good shot, he didn't throw many his compared to others, he didn't fight more than others, he wasn't healthy (and also wasn't healthy in Edmonton)

There were so few plus sides to adding him to the team. That being said he certainly was not the cause of Vancouver's problems, he just didn't solve any of them

  3. At this point, I just hope whoever the new GM is, he ignores the Oilers’s phone calls this off season since they’ve fleeced us in two straight. We gave up Podkolzin for a 4th and he’s blossomed in Edm. Then we helped them with their cap issue by taking Kane. They should have given US the 4th rounder to take him with no retention. It’s those types of deals that have kept the Canucks from any sustained success.

  4. I was one of the people on the fence for him. He really wanted to end his career here as a Canuck and I hoped it would motivate him. My main thought he was washed up already but might be able to squeeze out a bit more. Reality is we are not the Oilers and he had a heavy burden and was not able to carry it out. The Oilers did not have to rely on him a lot but the Canucks needed the young Kane who had diminished at least 5 years ago. Hard to be the guy when the team is weak and fragile then the load is heaped upon you. He probably did not play much different than he did in Edmonton. Just that their team is way better and he could look better.

  5. There should have been one panel at the Canucks year end press conference of three guys named Pettersson.

Kane wasn't here for most of the season, so it's not a big surprise. When he failed to show up in the game that Washington came to town be get physical, after Chytil got taken out by a predatory hit by Wilson, I was done with him. Kane only fought for Kane.

  6. I feel like he could have actually helped some of these teams during a playoff run especially if motivated.

  7. Theory: He doesnt want any part of being moved & still wants to play 4 Vancouver so he is Hiding 4 this very reason. Perhaps he learned a lesson what happen to the likes of what happened to Myers. Hope the ne GM & better trainers help this guy activate his Malkin side of him 24/7 IF – he intends to stay

  8. He found a freeing ride with Van. Do no personal harm, just coast along, grab that paycheck. Sucked in Canucks again. 😞

  9. He sucked before coming to Van and sucked during and will suck after. He is a race grifter that is way past whatever prime he had.
