  1. 8 year contract extension, do it Grier. Don't mess around with it, no short term stuff here, show commitment to the kid and pay him. He is worth it.

  2. Sharks need some big hitters now to protect him. They should sign some big boys and be super aggressive next year.

  3. Don't overthink it. Give him an 8 year extension under or around the value of the biggest contracts in the league and make him the captain.

  4. He will be 20 in June still has 1 year in his entry level contract. So he can sign a new extension in July 1st. I would recommend that Sharks sign him to a 3 or 4 year deal to get him to 24 or 25 years old. One or two year before his UFA status then sign him to a 7 year max deal. This way u guarantee him for another 10 to 11 years instead of giving him a 7 year deal right now where he could be a UFA at 28 instead of 31 or 32.

  5. Honestly it does seem smart for him to sign a short contract then sign a bigger one for even more $$ when he’s in his prime, he’s already a generational player and he’s probably not even close to his prime yet! but definitely if I was in that franchise I would try to get him to sign a long deal, but if I was him, I’d sign a short deal 100%

  6. How many times can you ask a question about a contract extension before you accept that he doesn't want to discuss it further?

  7. That young team is very promising, a lot of similarities with the Habs . Young goalies, young players, lots of talent.

  8. Can’t believe that a 19 year old is able to handle all of this attention and remain so humble. Classy kid 👏👏👏🇨🇦
