The Ottawa Senators shut out the New York Islanders 3-0 tonight to move five points clear in the Eastern Conference wild card race. Linus Ullmark was a wall with 23 saves and his third shutout of the season. Ridly Greig scored shorthanded, Jake Sanderson buried a 5 on 3 power play goal in the third, and Michael Amadio sealed it with an empty netter. Four straight wins. The Senators are in the driver’s seat heading into the playoffs.
But nobody is talking about the win tonight.
Brady Tkachuk took a puck to the head late in the second period, returned for one shift, and never came back. No update. No timeline. A possible head injury with three games left in the regular season and a playoff series just around the corner.
Ottawa is heading to the playoffs. The question nobody can answer right now is whether their captain will be with them when they get there.

I think the Tkachuk injury is definitely something concussion related with his fight at the start with Lee. Cause that play where the Isles player jumps on the ice near him I don't think he even touches Tkachuk I think in that moment when he turned his head fast from side to side it triggered something concussion related that made him dizzy and hard to get off the ice. Whatever it is I hope he's back soon cause we definitely going to need him now that we made playoffs. GSG!

So hold on here…didn't they call out Ullmark for sitting out on the Tkachuk podcast not too long ago and now Brady is sitting out because he doesn't feel well? So it's not ok when his teammates do it, but there is no problem when it is him. Sounds like leadership to me. Take a good look at the Leafs Sens fans…with leadership like this, that is your future.
And i know it was his father that said it, but the only reason to be on a podcast is to express your opinions about things and he didn't oppose his father on the matter. Now he either agreed with his father at the time and is a hypocrite, or he is a guy who had something to say, but didn't say anything at a time when something needed to be said. Either way, those are not good leadership traits to have.
