  1. Maybe Sundin can fire up and motivate Nylander from being a figure skater who doesn't help his teammates in their own end,

  2. No chance Sundin comes back to this mess. Besides, he's been completely gone from hockey since he retired, he has no knowledge on how the game is managed these days. Nice name to float, but no chance.

  3. I highly doubt Mats Sundin will take a job with the Leafs, but even if he was interested he has no experience. Doug Gilmour makes more sense as he actually has management experience in Hockey. If you want a former captain of the team to be the GM, hire Dougie.

  4. Leaf fans grasping at straws. Another suit. So what? Totally meaningless to what takes place on the ice.

  5. As much as I love Sundin, why should I believe that he would do a good job at building a winning team? In my opinion you go with Brandon Pridham who is the analytical mastermind and got very little credit for what he did when Dubas was GM. You give him the reigns and bring in someone like Spezza as assistant GM who is also a huge hockey nerd. For president maybe you bring in a "hockey guy" for culture.

  6. Nope thanks.
Had a couple of good playoffs runs. Nothing more than that.
Was a selfish POS and did not waive his NTC til the very end. Left and signed with the Nucks instead.
He has some talent on the ice, but knows no more about front office work than Brenden Shanascam

  7. If Sundin gets a job in front office, that will it for me.
    So tired of stupidity.
The Leafa haven't had a strong front office since Cliff Fletcher.

  8. Pelley talked about the possibility of several different positions. In that vein I could see Mats in some capacity. Certainly could be an anchor developing good culture in the organization. What's Mats business acumen? Could you see Mats as the figurehead guy with 2 GM's. One, player personnel and, one operations.

  9. Why speak to Sundin now? He will not be President. He will not be G.M. Choose the person(s) who will fill those positions first.

It is obvious that Keith Pelley does not know how a succesful Hockey Organization should be built. For Chrissake's, hire someone who does, NOW.

  10. Gillis as POHO
    Sundin as VP
    Pridham as GM

Pridham is exactly the guy we have always wanted calling the shots. Cap Management, Analytics savvy, has a large say in some of our best draft prospects we have had. Let him unleash the in house departments that have been held back since Dubas' firing.

  11. Nothing matters while Pelley is still in charge. Of course he is talking to Sundin – Pelley can jack his ego by treating him as his "mentor".

  12. Matt’s first order is to get experience with a running a hockey team. But yes he would be a steadier competitor as GM and he would care about everything else including the team performance on the ice. He would rip off the bandaids and start the healing process with the fans.
