I’m not excited. I hope he has success, but, ultimately, he is an analytics guy, with experience as an assistant GM. I would rather have a more experienced GM.
They really are stealing all the jobs.
HAPPY for the team. Sunny is a local guy who knows the lay of the organization & is the hottest up and coming candidate there was available.
Also, a numbers guy is exactly what we need now that Utica is empty of talent & the big club is in cap hell.
Unfortunately, Sonny has no runway. He needs to made bold moves & big swings right out of the gate.
All is all, exciting day for the franchise

Sonny was the Vice President of Hockey Strategy and Intelligence with Florida. He learned from Bill Zito and he will marriage the analytics with the right way of playing hockey. This is a good hire
Oh look – as soon as Fitz is not involved…. we don't come in 2nd. I can't wait to see what this guy does with the roster – no more passengers.

I just saw th3 announcement was out all day and just saw this news. Overall we will see. Good candidate wasn't my top choice who was langenbrunner but not upset with this selection. Its sunny skies ahead lets get to work. Lgd
I do like that hes familiar with organization and from area those connections and his experience with teams like florida are good things for him. So now the most important offseason in devils history and alot of multitasking must begin now. Alot to do. Lgd

My number 1 wish belief hope is that the wait and hope era is over and we see a new decisive aggressive era from our gm to make things happen for us. Too much of inaction in past administration so we need to see actions now that show what this man Mehta can do.
He needs to use that brain and mathematics experience to figure out how to get these numbers work to benefit us in personnel department. Hopefully but now we need to see actions…
Brady tchacuk would be incredible another option if hes available a massive move would be for a Auston matthews. Other guys i love are Dylan Larkin also a Jason robertson or from Vegas an rfa 35 plus goal scorer consistently is pavel dorofeyev and he is young. 2 years straight
