Are the Ducks a good draw for the Oilers?

Are the Ducks a good draw for the Oilers? Do the Oilers have enough in the tank for another long playoff run? TSN Director of Scouting Craig Button and NHL analyst Cameron Gaunce join SC with Jay Onrait to discuss.

  1. Ducks fan here. I know you Oilers fans are secretly sweating us.

We all remember 2017 lol. God I hope Kesler shows up to troll.

  2. These canadian commentators and their glazing of the oilers is so fkin annoying. Every single year same sht. What has mcdavid and drisaitl ever won? Nothing.

  3. Anaheim's biggest crutch, is lack of playoff experience as a collective. That will be their undoing, along with other things.

  4. Also, here we have yet another moron thinking that regular season stats mean anything. I guess you were in a coma, bud, when practically every other president's trophy winner throughout history, is dispatched handedly.

Colorado is not making the finals, and it's for one reason. Other teams have been playing playoff hockey for the past month already, and Colorado and other top teams, are soft. Not willingly, just that they haven't had to dig deep, and it by the time they find that depth to dig into in the playoffs, it will be too late.

So, no, Edmonton will not have to face Colorado in the playoffs, assuming Edmonton makes it that deep in the first place.

"So, who's your pick for the cup winner this year?"

"Durrrrrrr, Colorado of course. They won the president's trophy!!! 🤡"

  5. I hope the coach of the Oilers does have to play the 1 st line as heavy as in the past. The younger players, Savoie, Podzolin, ect, really doing great and it is a good sign for the back lines to play more.

  6. Ya ill doubt Oilers all day long….without mcdavid getting 3+ pts per game they lose. Theyll win rd 1….thats when its over.

  7. I know it's a new year but when it comes to playoff time I always thought Edmonton plays a waay more aggressive and faster style in the playoffs. Watching the last few playoff runs they are a lot more aggressive in their forechecking, they play tighter defensively (they love sitting back when when they have a 1 goal lead), and they build a lot more speed through the neutral zone compared to their regular season performances it's like watching the team play 2x faster in the playoffs. Florida is also another team that just flat out plays a lot more aggressive during the playoffs, it's almost like EDM and Florida knows that the style they play in the playoffs isn't sustainable in a 82 regular season schedule.

  8. Colorado seems to be a typical example of a team dominating the regular season, valuing winning a President's Trophy, and then sputtering in the playoffs, because honestly, they haven't had to play with 100% intensity for the entire second half of the season. Recent history shows examples of these types of teams getting bounced in the first round. Think of 2019 Tampa Lightning and 2023 Boston Bruins. I would not be shocked to see the Kings beat them. In fact, I will be predicting a Kings round 1 win.

  9. When the so called "hockey experts" are all glazing the Colorado Avalanche, that's when you know they are going to choke and lose in round 1.

  10. Year in and year out it's the same conversation, Colorado and Dallas are too good and no one can beat them. Well last year Dallas knocked off Colorado and then the big bad Dallas "deep" team that no one could beat lost to the Oilers. These guys on the panel just predict the teams in first place winning the cup. Colorado has shown times this year where they don't look so good and they won the presidents trophy so I guess they'll break the curse? Don't be shocked if there's upsets in the first round. Minnesota could easily beat Dallas. These guys are already saying that Colorado is in the western conference finals even before the playoffs start. Same story every year and they're always wrong. Oil had 0 chance in beating Dallas last year they said and now they're saying the same thing this year that no one can beat Colorado. Can't wait to see what happens if or when they possibly get upset again. How many times do we have to say that regular season stats mean nothing and that the playoffs are whole new season?

  11. My heart is torn because im from edmonton and im a duck fan but I think I got to cheer on my ducks. Ducks against the oilers in the playoffs ducks always seam on top. Im so excited for this series

  12. To much love for Colorado. Colorado will have a helluva 2nd round and they have not beat Dallas in recent years. 🤷🏼‍♂️ I don't think it's so clearly Colorado coming out of the central

  13. throwing shade at the ducks. let's see how it plays out. Q has played a few playoff games. if ducks get hot…

  14. Game 6 Edmonton win vs the ducky’s 😂😂😂
The Ducks gonna get roasted by Edmonton in game 6😂😂😂

  15. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that Oilers/Knights/Tampa/Florida are the only teams to make the final that last few years. They’ve had the easier brackets..

  16. The two major X factors are Radko Gudas and Connor McDavids MCL. Gudas has shown the unique ability to inflict damage onto a superstar’s MCL and put them on IR long term. If he can bring his game to his series like he usually does he can alter the outcome of the series.

  17. I think the Oilers probably win the series but I feel like the Ducks could push it to maybe 6 games

  18. Oilers will be beaten by ducks: 4-1 ; prediction: drai reinjures, mcdavid will get flattend and target attack by goon player duck, Gooda. Hyman will end up injured again.
