What went wrong for the Winnipeg Jets this season? Would you be surprised to see Scott Arniel back with the Jets next season? TSN Director of Scouting Craig Button joins SC with Jay Onrait to discuss.

  1. The Helly injury was a big factor. This is the same old Jets 2.0 we have always seen minus some fire power from a year ago. It has never been an elite defense, it has always been rely heavy on the goaltender, then play hard for 15 or 25 min later on in the game to get across the line more often then not. You don't have that elite goaltending then you are not a playoff team, plain and simple.

  2. HELLEBUYCK needs to go. He has too much influence on this team and coaches. Coaching is Weak. This team requires a Victor Tikanov style coach. Bowness was totally fair in calling out this team.

  3. Lost way too much speed: Ehlers, Kupari, Appleton, Tanev. Didn't replace Ehlers' secondary scoring. Key injuries to Hellebuyck, Lowry, Pionk, Morrissey etc and not enough depth to in those spots to survive those losses. A terrible system from the coaching staff, getting outshot badly every night, often going into the 3rd period with single digit shot totals, poor special teams. Dragging the shells of washed up veterans like Nyquist and Niederreiter into battle every night instead of working some young guys into the lineup earlier in the season.
