The Sabres on paper are better than the bruins in basically every aspect. Sabres have the goalie with better sv%. Sabres have more balanced scoring. Sabres are top 5 in sv% and goals for. Bruins are top 5 in penalties and so % but they are behind the Sabres.
If the Sabres were going to let up after they made the playoffs, how did they keep winning to beat out Montreal amd Tampa for the Atlantic? That defies logic
Buffalo was in last place in the East on Dec 8. Sabres went on a 10 and 8 game win streak after that and had the hottest 40 game stretch in the nhl in 30 years.
This is the matchup Buffalo wanted. The path of least resistance to Round 2.

People tend to think the Sabres are scoring a lot on the rush and gambling a lot. This isn't the case. They're using a unique style where BOTH D will jump up like forwards and they will cycle 4 like this 5v5. It's a problem and confuses D. That's how they win. Just sayin'. 🦬
