Recap: San Diego Gulls vs Bakersfield Condors, 4.11.2026

The San Diego Gulls punched their ticket to the Calder Cup Playoffs in emphatic fashion, rolling past the Bakersfield Condors 7-3 on Saturday night at Dignity Health Arena. With the win, San Diego clinched a postseason berth for the first time since 2022, fueled by a dominant second period that saw four unanswered goals. After falling behind 2-1 late in the opening frame despite an early tally from Yegor Sidorov, the Gulls flipped the game in the middle period with goals from Matthew Phillips on the power play, Nathan Gaucher, Justin Bailey, and Nico Myatovic in a span of just over six minutes to take full control.

San Diego continued to build on the momentum in the third, getting goals from Tristan Luneau and Stian Solberg, the latter coming shorthanded into an empty net to cap the night. Myatovic led the way with a goal and an assist, while Judd Caulfield added two helpers in the win. The Gulls finished 1-for-4 on the power play and held Bakersfield to 1-for-3, while goaltender Damian Clara turned aside 36 of 39 shots. The seven-goal outburst marked one of the team’s most complete offensive performances of the season, sending the Gulls into the playoffs with momentum and confidence.
