Simon Edvinsson of the Detroit Red Wings was initially giving a major penalty for interference on Brady Tkachuk of the Ottawa Senators. After review, it was reduced to a minor penalty. I think they got this correct.

I still think this isn't a penalty for Edvinsson. As you say, it's really just Tkachuk running into him and Edvinsson having a split second recognition to brace himself for it. There's no follow through or anything to me that makes it feel like anything other than incidental contact. This is definitely a case where I just tell Tkachuk to keep his head up next time.
Ed doesn't have to cede ground to Brady there. Let's be honest though he does put a little stank on it because Brady is a d bag. 2 minutes well worth it.
I might agree. But I still think no minor penalty against anyone named "Tkachuk" should ever be reduced for any reason.
Wrong, there was no initial penalty. Terrible call. No player should be allowed/encouraged to skate into another player and fall down to draw a penalty! Should have been "Delay Of Game" on Tkachuk.
