The Leafs cannot do a real rebuild since they do not have their next 2 1st round draft picks.
But they can trade Mathews and Nylander for at least 4 high end players in the 22 – 26 yr old range and 2 high end prospects.
Drafting in the top 5 this year could provide the #1 defenseman so desperately needed.
I gave up on the lease the year after they were one game away from the Stanley Cup finals in 94.
The leafs jinxed they won't get their top 5 pick the lotto they will bumped to 6 just watch 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤬🤬🤬
Chief and his ways has screwed the Leafs for a pick.
A rebuild is gonna take at least 2 to 3 years. The leafs have no pics. They have no real prospects no free agent really couple guys, but do the players want to come and play for the leafs. Is Matthews going to be a top Centre player and is William Nelander actually going to come to play will Knies and Cowan show up ,all the good questions. I guess we’ll see who the leafs bring in for a president GM and a coach then we can talk.

The sad sack fans think one draft pick is going to turn this terminally lousy team around. Bedard in Chicago has fulfilled all his expectations (top scorer on his team since his start) and yet the Blackhawks are still struggling. You need multiple picks to find one gem amidst all the duds.
The weasel will make sure the leafs will not get get it even if they get to the top 5.
