You can defend Bouchard legitimately as an incredibly talented offensive defenseman, but what this showed is that Bouchard's weakness (giving up the puck in key situations) could undo the Oilers in a very crucial way in the playoffs.

IMO Bouchard is a wash at best.
Bouchard’s type of play today is the reason he was passed on being selected for the Canadian Olympic team, and it’s also the reason he might be passed for the Norris as well.

But the reffing was truly awful.
Today's performance is why I have these guys slated for a 2nd round exit (at best), possibly even 1st.
Draisaitl said it best, "We are not the same team", and I won't argue a word of it. This not the 2024 or 2025 playoff roster, or state of team.
Anything is possible in the playoffs. We saw this team with a ridiculous PK % through the one run, and who knows, maybe one of the goalies goes full on nuclear mode, and just grooves at the right time.
That being said, if they play like today? 1st round exit, and it will not be a pretty one.

Flyers have saved the Oilers season in convincing fashion. If the Flyers and Oilers meet in the cup final that would be pretty epic. I'm probably going to be picking the underdogs every round this year but we'll see for sure when we get the match ups.

I still like your idea of introducing a new 3-2-1 points system for games like these kings may of pushed more for a second goal which means there may have been more gaps
Die Oilers haben sehr gut gespielt und mit voller Kapelle ist LA ein leichter Gegner für uns. Dallas scheint wohl noch besser als Colorado zu sein und Minnesota darf man nicht unterschätzen. Respekt der Mannschaft für das Erreichen der Playoffs, und das bei all den Problemen.

Matinee game are a rare opportunity for me as a puny euro to watch a game live. 😀 Ingram was incredible. Bouch again tried to be too clever and Panarin flat out stole the puck. That goal was on Bouch. I know he has good advanced stats, still think those frequent turnovers turn him into a net negative.
I hope after the Oilers get eliminated in the first round of the playoffs (or maybe don't even make it?), that idiot Knob gets fired! 😜Besides, most of the Oilers are basically mediocre "Checkers." ( herd of "Henrique's /Frederic's)

All jokes aside this wasn’t the most meaningful game since the Oilers clinched by proxy anyway, but obviously as fans we want to see the team win. I think after the first period the team collectively agreed not to push it too hard. Can’t afford more injuries. Lots of people failed the Bouchard litmus test, but what can you expect when the one goal that goes in happens off of a top D-pair defensive breakdown. Ekholm made a poor play, Bouchard couldn’t guarantee the puck’s safety, and the team got scored on by an elite forward. Let the Kings have their day.
On a positive note Ingram was again top notch. I have a lot more faith going into the playoffs with him in goal than #74.
Considering max jones was a 2nd liner today, I’m not mad with how this game went
