Nah the disrespect karlssons season is crazy all the points they are making for Bouchard this season you could say about Karlsson in 2023 and he didn’t have the likes of Mcdavid and players of that Caliber. Karlsson even had better defensive stats for the guys on his team then he WAS the biggest impact player.

Counter-argument to a lot of the reasoning here: Erik Karlsson maybe shouldn't have won. "Well if we're going to give it to Karlsson for 101, then.." no, stop, the year he had 101 points he was a -26. Let's just change the Norris to top point-getting defenseman, then.
If making the playoffs matter, then they should consider that Detroit would be #1 in that sad sack Pacific division as it stands right now and the Jackets would be tied in points with the Oilers. Wings, Islanders, Jackets and Capitals would all be in the playoffs if they were in the West since they all have more points than the Kings. This doesn't even account playing in the West means more games against weaker teams. Wings are 19-10-3 against the West this season. Islanders are 17-14-1, Jackets are 16-13-3, Capitals are 16-12-4. 4 teams that likely won't make the playoffs that would easily make it in the West and maybe even challenge for 1st in the weak Pacific division.
I'm biased but Seider should win it. 60 points and a +21 on a team with a -7 goal differential. Plays the toughest minutes of any defensemen every night, top 25 in hits for defensemen, #3 in blocked shots for defensemen, top PK guy and also PP for the Wings. He's easily the most complete two way defenseman this season. Doesn't matter because all people look at is points now like these bozos in this video. The Norris is just the Art Ross for defensemen now or the 4th forward that skates backward with the most points award.

Bouchard just gives the puck to McDavid
Let's be honest, Werenski's biggest weakness is not playing behind two top 5 forwards in the league. Anytime the Norris conversation is brought up, that's what puts Werenski over the top for me. His defensive game suffers through having to focus so heavily on offensive production since the rest of the team does not pull their weight.
People in here a dumb AF. Bouchard lead the London knights in points as a 16 yo with 87pt in 67 games. Oh but wait McDavid must of been playing with him there as well. F@ckin part time fans….also keep in mind Evan didn’t register a single point in his first 7 games this season. Let that sink in.

In 20/21 Tyson Barrie led the league in d-men scoring with 48 points in 56 games and didn't receive a single Norris vote. Bouchard shouldn't win.
Don’t know why everyone thinks Bouchard only contributes offensively, watch 1 full oilers game and you’ll see how much different he is defensively and with his effort. Hes the Norris
