In this video, we break down Connor McDavid & the Edmonton Oilers. We take a deep dive into whether or not they can make noise in the NHL playoffs.

  1. Yeah if we dont win it I think he is gone. And I have about 10% hope we can pull something out of our asses. Last year I thought we were like 60% chance to win.

  2. I don’t think the Oilers will have the longevity they need to win the cup. It’s a shame because of how good their stars are. Eventually I think they’ll have to make some major changes. McDavid will make his own history somehow. It’s just a matter of where

  3. I think McD will win a cup… just not with Edmonton. He needs the the team around him and the Oilers just have too many weak spots. Too much money tied up in 4 players like Toronto had, even with McD taking a hometown discount. Weak goaltending, inconsistent defense, and a questionable coach won't get you a cup, even with the best player in the league.

  4. Reminds me of Ray Borque. Played for the Bruins for ever, but the Bruins couldn't give him the cup, so they traded him to Av's for the final season. It's like the only time I've seen a player go from a New England team to another and not get booed. When Sakic gave him the first hoist, that was magical.

  5. I know its a pipe dream, but having Pittsburgh vs Edmonton in the finals would be legendary.

Two teams who have had a difficult year with great potential to get hot when it matters, running the gauntlet to get Sid vs Mcdavid in the finals would be a spectacle.

  6. Always going to give a team with McDavid and Draisaitl a chance. With the weak division this year best case scenario is they get through the first two rounds quickly and face a beat up Central division team in the WCF. East doesn’t have any teams nearly as good as the Panthers of the last two seasons. Hope they finally get it done this year.

  7. Maybe if Connor and Leon had agreed to accept a lesser salary to give the Edmonton Oilers some extra money to spend on depth, this wouldn't have happened. Now, I agree that the Oilers organization also made mistakes that crippled their chances of adding depth, such as getting Darnell Nurse at that ridiculously high sum of money. But the fact remains that both McDavid and Draisaitl occupy a huge chunk of the cap space for that team. When Crosby, Malkin, Letang and Fleury saw the opportunity to win the Cup together, they made an agreement so they'd stick together and it paid off with Stanley Cup victories. This same type of agreement happened recently with Suzuki, Caufield, Slafkovsky and Hutson, and now the Canadiens are the most likely team to win the Cup in the upcoming years, surpassing the Oilers. Hopefully McDavid now realizes that you need to sacrifice some of your gold coins if you want the silver and nickel alloy. Maybe this will make him reconsider his next contract negotiations.

  8. Why are people giving the rest of Team Canada a pass? So many passengers for the whole tourney. So much for depth 🤷

  9. imo there is 1 shockingly obvs difference between Crosby vs McDavid in there prime…. Crosby has received votes for a Selke 13 separate seasons

Nobody who has touched ice has ever had the offensive ability McDavid has the guy is the greatest offensive force i have ever seen but hes not a winger hes a C meaning he needs to play 200ft

  10. Im a Sabres fan so ik for a fact we had more then enough goalies that we could have sent EDM Levi, Ellis or even Lyon to EDM for a very discounted price

I also think guys like Jake McCabe, Rasmus Ristolainen or Luke Schenn could have been very solid pickups to boost the physical side + depth dman for somewhat cheap price
