  1. before I start evaluating it,
glad to see slafkovsky starts plastering people through the boards, I mean it was a solid game from his side, he even beaten a guy in a brawl
he was also penetrating into the opponents defensive zone using the momentum of his body, like if there was no tommorow, he was activelly engaging the bolts already in their zone while taking the puck from them
moreover he hit 2 times a post, and missed the empty net, so eventually he could have got 4+1 in yhis match
    with zusuki the best forward

I knew this game was about a goal or two, maybe, it was a difficult, basically a "play off" match, the habs went clever , again
I mean the victory was more than deserved

matheson is really bad, trade him

btw. is kucherov injured ? I didn't see him, even once 🙂

  2. How bout Kirby Dach??!! Every single time he had a chance to finish a check he did and with authority. He's still shaking some rust off, but I think he might be a factor in the playoffs.

  3. Dobes has been the difference-maker so far, but the real question is how he handles playoff pressure. If he rises to the moment the way Patrick Roy did in 1993, this team has what it takes to go all the way. So happy for Cole on his 50th.

  4. Really one of the best games of seasson ,i watched more that half of matches and all highlights ,regards from Bratislava -fan of habs more than 10 years ,now even more with Slaf,Cole,Suzuki ,Hutson,Ivan and Dobes -my fav GHG

  5. Great game, but seriously need to capitalize on PPs and need to get that depth scoring back. Ottawa can score 6 goals against Tampa but Habs can't? 🤔 Though Ottawa didn't have to contend with Vasilevskiy, but still…

  6. Woohoo! Loved seeing Cole and Slaf hit milestones, and the strong, well-rounded, and consistent play. The Canadiens are leveling up! With this continuous growth and incoming prospects, the future is indeed looking bright for the Habs.

  7. This team finally has the goaltending required going forward. Caufield 50, Slaf. 30 and Dobes standing on his head. Woooooohoooo!! GO HABS GO!!!!

  8. I'm so happy for Cole. He was able to get 50 with his dad in the crowd.

Amazing game for the top line, Kudos to Slaf for # 30.

I loved the fight from this team after the whistles and scoring the winning goal in regulation. Great push back.

  9. Lane Hutson has picked up some Suzuki, and his demeanour when Perry tried to bait him was exactly the move. Who sits on the 3-Star committee, and how did they miss Dobes? (but this Habs team makes the selection impossible…)

  10. I have been so concerned about not getting a piece at the deadline to help in a playoff series but after seeing this team match a physical TB team I’m feeling like they might make a legitimate run!! Proud Habs fan right here!

  11. i ate 3 uncrustables today gave my friend one while watching the game and are little bundle of joy scored right after he finished his yum yum. lets go habs. from downtown Montreal.

  12. A very impressive win. Loved the effort and the competition level. So happy for Cole and Slaf, and Suzuki and Dobes were huge. However, I would point out that Tampa was without Hedman and Hagel. When are the referees going to call Perry on his b.s. He's such a dick. Give him a penalty or, at the very least, a misconduct.

  13. Excellent game by the whole team! A real playoff style game, against (probably) the team they will face in the playoffs. That little pass from Slafkovsky to Suzuki for Caufield's score was very interesting. He knew Suzuki was going to be there, and he was.

Slaf's goal was great as well, but he got the benefit of lazy play by Kucherov. They were side by side in the corner, but Slafkovsky headed for the net, and Kucherov, presumably because he didn't think Suzuki was going to get the puck stood back and watched. That left Slaf all alone in front of the net. But that was also head's up on Suzuki's part, and he is definitely one of the reason's this line is one of the best in the NHL right now.

  14. Hage and Michigan lost tonight in double OT. I would imagine he signs in the morning.

  15. Had tears in my eyes during both goals! What a satisfaction following every game this season, the build up. Love Montreal team!

  16. Cole's post-game interview was a thing of beauty. What a humble, classy young man he is. Impossible not to cheer for him and this entire team. There's something VERY VERY special happening here.

  17. Still remember exactly where I was when #44 hit 50…and also remember it was against the Sabres. Not gonna forget this one either!!

Our Juraj Slafkovský, I am proud of you like most Slovaks, I was a Detroit Red Wings fan for many years, but when you went to the Montreal Candiens, I became their fan and I think it was the best decision, because this team and its fans are the best in the entire NHL 🙂

  19. The performance in the first 2 periods was out of this world. Dobes could have brought a book. I could have done without the stressfull 3rd but other than that – fantastic goal by Caufield and a fantastic decider by Slav. It was fun.

  20. Montréal won’t have enough energy for the second round if they go at it with Tampa. They really need to gun for the first place

  21. Let’s give a nod to Marc Bergevin; 3 of the most valuable players currently on the roster where drafted, traded for under his regime; nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, Jakub Dobes

Let’s give a nod to GoKent for adding additional cornerstone pieces in Juraj, Lane, Demidov.

  22. What worried me the most during the season is the defensive game. I don't know what happened to this team, but I'm not worried anymore.
Caufield was deemed too small to succeed in this league. He just silenced these voices forever.

  23. Anyone notice if Brandon Hagel was in Tampa’s lineup? Didn’t notice if he was. Injured?

  24. Definitely the most exciting team they've put on the ice for a long time. Last year they squeaked into the playoffs on the last game of the season. This year they challenging for first place in the division, and indeed in the conference!

They've been improving by leaps and bounds! Great time to be a Habs fan. (In my case, I've been Habs for over 65 years.)

  25. Then you’re gonna have Hage flanked by Demidov and Zharovsky eventually to form another elite 1st line.

  26. Ja som fanúšikom Habs odkedy draftovali Juraja ako jednotku a niekoľko tisíc fanúšikov spolu so mnou zo Slovenska.👍🇸🇰👏Habs do toho!!!

  27. Ahoj ALL,
so who forget to tell boys this was not PO game? 😀
Games like this are reason I torture myself by watching live from Europe…
